I always thought both this new style and the older ones were just painted plastic. That's all I ever read here. Putting it on though... it sure FEELS like those are metal inserts on it and not just plastic. Not that it matters at all one way or the other. The real issue is just how crap the new basic ones are. Like... even the plastic itself somehow feels a bit soft and cheap.

Not the sexiest thing to buy for my Boxster 25 but I have a grimy steering wheel from the previous owner/slob so I bought this cleaner. It is German so has to work on a German car. Right? Informative video attached.
If it doesn't work to get the shiny stuff off the wheel, I willl be posting about my new steering wheel purchase.

It took about 20 - 30 minutes to install. To swap the accelerator, you need a T30 then disconnect/reconnect the sensor cable. The brake pedal is a rubber boot underneath. For the dead pedal, just pry with a heavy duty trim tool. It is held in by 6 fasteners. Limited space to work under the steering was the biggest pain. As for feel, I don't notice a difference compared with the standard pedals. The aluminum pedals are textured so I suspect it will be grippier when wet. I got it because it looks better, but that's subjective.

Wear gloves when removing the original pedals. The metal trims around the pedals are sharp.

Finally did the upgrade to a full track interior and a set of Ohlins R/Ts. Most of it purchased on Black Friday sales - CMS roll bar and seat bases, Sparco QRT seats, Sabelt harnesses.

All expertly installed by Dergarage (cbracerx on RL). This morning I just purchased the Rennline aluminum track mats - completely unnecessary, but what the heck.

Looking forward to first track day with new setup next Friday.

I love the garage within a garage. Must be a thing for white Spyders. I did the same in my garage. Protects the car nicely with Plexiglas sides, and a sliding door, since my garage is also my workshop. I call mine a "carcoon".

I had the full silver look one on the C4S and now have newer black and aluminum-look version on my Boxster 25 Years. The stock black plastic ones are a disappointment.

I think the OEM 'full aluminum' one is till just aluminum plated onto plastic.

Yes and yes. The brake pedal is a bit of a pain to install, primarily because of the tight location, but they do feel more solid once installed and they look the part to boot.

Not sure what you guys do to dry your cars, but I’ve always used a leaf blower followed up with a Griot’s PFM Drying Towel for any final drips to minimize the chance of fine scratching of the paint. Just bought the Stubby Nozzle Co. leaf blower drying nozzle accessory to make it a bit less cumbersome. Check it out:

Stubby Nozzle Leaf Blower Accessory.

^^ Bummer they don't have one for my version of the Greenworks 80v - I've been trying to find a way to shorten the nozzle.
