Contacted RGS. The side grilles for 4.0 models are simply not confirmed as RGS has never had a 4.0 car to test fitment on. Judging from the above there is no fitment issue on a 4.0. The GTS 4.0.GT4/Spyder look to be the same other than the single fin vs 2 fin, which I can't see how that would impact the grille fitment.

It appears to be so, but I have Zunsport front grills and they could not confirm their side intake grills would fit my 4.0, which is why I'm concerned these might not fit either. I agree that they most likely will fit since it appears the only difference from the 718 and 718S is the number of fins, but I just want to be certain.

I too have been lobbying Zunnsport to develop an application for the GT4 side grills.

As I posted not long ago, Zunsport does not make these for the side intakes.

In regards to fitment, contact Eric at RGS. The ones I installed fit properly on the GT4 air intakes, and are formed with a center indent to go in between the horizontal fin.

Thank you so much Bob for testing our design! And thank you for the kudos as well. We use the hexagon design to match the front grille screens of the Spyder and GT4. Bob do you happen to have any photos without the GT 4 side scoops?

@Dan So sorry for missing your email Thursday. Just replied to you. Thank you all for the overwhelming support!

We will be getting the Spyder and GT4 side intake grille screens up on the website this morning.

@RoadrunnerGTS Yes that is correct. We need to confirm the design change between the 718 and the 718 4.0. The side intakes are of a different design, similar to the 981 cars. The 718 4 bangers had a single intake tract on each side. That made the design of the side intake much simpler. These with the split intake track require a special jig to get the proper bends and separation in the grill work to fit like OEM.

For those who have contacted us, we might have let you know that we were waiting on someone to test. That someone was Bob. Thank you so much Bob!

If someone has a picture of their car with the side intake pieces removed please post it in this thread.

FYI

While the blades Bob installed seem to mimic the GT4 blades they are not actual GT4 blades. As has been shown the actual GT4 blades cannot be removed via snap in/out on a GT4. The are taped and screwed in (installation pdf from Manthey was previously posted on here). The requirement for a GT4 is therefore to remove the complete side panel.

Interesting since I ordered the OEM parts from Porsche (see part#s above). Regardless, they fit perfectly and are very secure so they will not come out when driving, and they are very inexpensive and look good to me on my car, which is all that matters.

And by the way, Eric told me that these mesh grills will fit all 4.0 718 cars.

Unless somebody else that has their car can help out in advance of my car arriving in about two-ish weeks, I'm going to take measurements for Eric @RGS for the front intakes that are apparently just different enough from the 2020GTS to the GTS 4.0.

After posting I got an email from RGS and placed my order for the side grills, looking forward to putting them on my GTS 4.0.

I placed the order last night for the RGS side grills for my soon-to-be-delivered CGTS 4.0. I previously ordered the front and side screens from Zunsport, but I don't like how their side grills sit *outside* the stock side grills. The RGS ones look much more OEM to me, but they are a slightly more complex installation since you have to pop that trim off as shown in the video (which is still far easier than the multiple steps that the GT4 owners need to take in order to do the same replacement).

Yanking the stock side trim off does make me a little nervous, but this is probably a project that I'll postpone until I've had the car at least a few months. Hoping to get some feedback here on how the install went for others that are braver than me at removing those stock trim pieces.

I like the idea of this grill but after driving for some times would worried some of the mud water may go into the intake and it’s hard to clean it, maybe it’s just my luck, been through one small stretch of construction road and the intake was dirty with those mud water.

Washing the black plastic part will be challenging if installed with grill. Well there’s no perfect of two world I guess 😅

Sorry if I missed it, but are these metal or plastic grills?
