Guys ^^^

I've been closely following this subject.
My decision is I'm leaving mine as it came from Porsche.
Seems to me Way-way to many people are stating they don't really hear all that much difference !!!

Thanks for your Honesty fellows on this matter ^^^

From all the comments posted it seems nothing really reduces the drone much. I plan to add some sound deadening material to the firewall behind the seats, covering the symposer hole in the process, and installing the factory GPF 's that I've bought and gutted. Report to follow, but don't have high hopes.

This certainly won't help reduce drone!

Probably not, but that wasn't my purpose in the experiment. I wanted to see if it helps any with power gain. Admittedly it will be difficult to tell, but an old guy needs a project, right?

Generally speaking, most exhaust mods that free up flow are beneficial, however manufacturers are careful regarding claims of increased power.

Unsure what the OEM GPF will do since the back part of the can is essentially a flat plat. I can’t imagine this mod helps anything except db.

I was speaking in general terms, and yes the OEM GPF cannister when gutted would certainly not be flow optimized...

A German tuner claims it can turn symposer off by ECU Programming?

Yes, with X431 bi-directional scanner I have seen the sound symposer listed there under coding options. I assume the same with option with PIWIS software if you have access to that.

You paid for that sound; Porsche built it; it sounds good; let it be! Who’s looking to remove legit intake noise at high/full throttle and high rpm?
Well crap! I guess I’ll reinstall the symposer and get back some valuable garage storage space. I hope I can remember where everything hooks up.

After installing this delete kit, the symposer

housing is no longer attached to the bracket. What did you all do with it, just leave it floppy? I just put a tie wrap to the wiring bundle underneath it, but before I put the engine covers back tomorrow wanted to check.

If you simply turn your PSE OFF, and drive, that will give you the effect of this mod.
