I contacted five or six shops in the NW-W Chitown burbs and all of them included at least 1 step paint correction. If more was needed (mine needed 2 step) it upped the $$.

Ok 2 config opinion questions:

1. Carbon Fiber door sills with carbon buckets and brushed anthracite aluminum trim... yay or nay? Feel like I might be mixing too many materials here.
2. "Dashboard Trim Package in Leather/Race-Tex" Thinking this or the leather only one are mostly a waste of money, and how apparent is the stitch reflection? And specifically to this option, what is "Dashboard end trim lower section" in RacTex?

Massive nay. Carbon buckets deserve the rest of the interior carbon trim, door sills included.

I don't like carbon interior trim though so that's not happening. The sills look nice as an accent, and didn't clash when I was planning Chalk trim or leather trim on PG. But PG is gone so I'm opting GB now, I think I want to brighten the cabin up a bit and not do leather trim.

When I see people that do the carbon interior trim, but leave the stock silver door sills, it's a massive swing and a miss IMO. To do the reverse of that, is an even bigger swing and a miss, but each to their own.

Opening the doors and seeing the carbon illuminated door sills really gives the car a more high end feel, if I was looking in the second hand market, I wouldn't purchase a Porsche GT car without them.

I have door sills in carbon selected.
I didn't like the look of the dash trim in carbon. Felt it was too shiny and a bit much for this car. So I didn't the black aluminum dash trim. I also have the bucket seats.

It's your decision though and everyone will have their opinions

Plenty of people (perhaps a majority?) have bucket seats and not carbon dash trim.

Interesting.

I called many many shops and tjeu all told me that they dont paint correct new cars getting ppf but if i really wanted it i could pay. I have a buddy in the industry that owns a tint shop tell me that these shops that PPF your car will tell u they are paint correct but they don't because the film covers minor imperfections and you'd never know the difference. He said if you want it corrected to do it elsewhere first to ensure it's done.

Ill be doing my own correction and ceramic... but I've been doing that for a decade and enjoy it.

Call me crazy i cancelled my GTS4.0 Cayman allocation today was waiting for 18 months and did get an allocation 3 months back which is supposed to lock in April 4th but went for a Camaro ZL1 for 2 reasons:

1. Very aggressive looks, much more power . The GTS looks meek to me , a good looking car but not aggressive enough
2. Price , GTS is very expensive and not sure worth the 100K + price

Dont flame me guys , if anyone is interested pm me and i can have you in contact with my SA, am sure they have a wait list which they can easily fulfill

I will keeo following this great thread and maybe one day become a porsche owner , a 911 manual which is my dream car but out of my budget
