there's another thread where this is being discussed. As usual there are a huge amount of discrepancy when talking about this but someone linked a webpage from someone who basically drives it hard right out of the gate (obv after engine is warmed up) and has pictures showing the engine in better condition than one that followed a soft break-in guide. This basically tells me that you can honestly just do what you want. And personally i don't think ive heard or seen a single example of a modern car having issues and it being proven that it was due to not being properly "broken in". As with many things i think this really jus all comes down to your own comfort level.

Advantage to this method, IMO - it helps you really appreciate how strong the midrange really is with this 4.0L motor. Because if the first thing you do is blast to 8000rpm, the midrange feels soft by comparison to the frantic charge over 6000. But if you only stay in the low/mid... it feels really good. Over 6000 it just feels GREAT.
Apples and oranges, I know, but I found it interesting that this method is actually fairly similar to the official break-in procedure listed in the owner's manual for my 2022 Kawasaki Z900RS that I bought last year. For the first 500 miles, RPM is not to exceed 4,000 (40% of redline). From 500 to 1,000 miles, RPM can be increased to 6,000 (60% of redline), with an oil change due at 600 miles. After 1,000 miles, you can take the engine all the way to redline. YMMV.

I’m doing this one. Seems to be happy medium between factory and the post above.

Sorry to veer the discussion off the road momentarily. Thanks a ton for the feedback. I’ll check that other thread as well. Hadn’t heard the no cruise control recommendation before. Good stuff, folks. I appreciate it!

My Spyder is either at - or headed to Emden.
It's projected to be released from Emden on 3/29 enroute to Jacksonville Port.
I can see that the SIEM ARISTOTLE is projected to arrive on 3/28 - inbound from Jacksonville. Is there any way of seeing where it's going after it's Emden's stop?

You have to wait to see which ship you actually land on first… hopefully you get on board shortly after your car reaches Emden.
Most trips to the East Coast from Emden stop at Baltimore in route. My vessel stopped at Halifax first, then Baltimore (my port), then down to FL ports. Each Port stop here on the east seem to take only 24 hours, then they’re off to the next one!

FYI - TYD had the most up to date details regarding the ships location vs. any vessel tracker. Its addicting to hit refresh every hour to see that your vehicle has now reached a lower “miles to dealer” designation

Ok good stuff!
I thought that TYD is not accurate and just will show when the vehicle leaves port then arrives at the destination Port. Glad to hear it's actually pulling live data?
I guess I've just got to stay "patient"... it's been a long wait though!

Mine arrived at Emden port today.
Anyone else waiting for a ferry? Hoping it's not a long wait. If I were to guess the most likely next boat out for me would be the SIEM ARISTOTLE late next week.

Hey bud
Not yet - I think they wait until the car is loaded on a ship with a more secure schedule.
My Stage 8 (Released for Transport) date moved from the 29th to the 23rd today - unsure if that means the car is loaded on a ship now? I guess I'll have to wait and see in the next day or two...
