I’ve been following these threads for way too long. I have seen examples of the post Emden update taking a week before the dealer/TYD knew what was up. I will keep my fingers crossed for you along with my own hope to be on a boat this week (4th times the charm!)

Anyone know who PECLA contracts for XPEL installation? Is there a way to get an extended (skirts and fenders) or full wrap?
I'm sure it's cheaper to go find my own and I'll get more info about wrap quality, but it would save me the inconvenience and cost of flying out twice. Although on a full wrap I'd still come ahead independent. Any suggestions for best installers around PECLA, LAX, LGB, or on way from LGB to Whittier?

Hi everyone, 1st post here.
I’m jealous of seeing everyone move through the build process so much faster than me. My car has been sitting at Emden since December 8th. Every 2 weeks my ship date passes and TYD is updated to two weeks later..
My new date is 3/14, so fingers crossed it actually gets on a boat then and heads to the west coast.

That is so odd. Mine got to Emden around the end of January 2023 after some delays in manufacturing but is on a boat for the West Coast (California) as of last week. I wonder if there are certain components that your car is waiting on in order for it to be shipped out. I think they would assemble them, if it doesn't require machinery, at the port or something if they got the parts to make space for cars at the factory. What did your SA say?

My SA says this is normal. In regards to waiting on components, he said that once a car is sent to port it is ready to be shipped. There at no notes indicating that it needs any parts installed at the dealer (ie Bose) so I’m baffled as to why my car has been sitting in Emden for 3 months. I contacted the corp office but they said to talk to my SA and assured me that cars are FIFO at Emden.
Ok, now I’m worried 😂.

Got my production photos over the weekend!

Just waiting on it making a boat to head to PEC Atlanta... Tentatively planning a pickup for early May.

Not as bad as you, but similar story, at Emden since 1/30 except no ship date update and SA says a boat isn't assigned and nothing he can do. Relative stripper build, so I can't imagine I'm waiting on parts or anything like that. But it's a bit worrying/annoying that it's been a month with no real status/eta..

TYD updated for me this morning. It's on the boat!

Now - the TYD app has the little map that allegedly shows the position of the boat. The app's position is nowhere near what the maritime app says (for any of the VW ships on that list).... I assume the TYD app just does a sort of approximation?

Maritime app has the boat passing through the English Channel right now. TYD shows the boat went north of the UK instead.

Your experience lines up with what happened with my car last year. My GT4 made it to Emden by mid-late May only to sit there until late August with no explanation. Back then the excuse was that there were replacement cars from those lost on the Felicity Ace cutting the line, but I don't know if there was any truth to that. My SA didn't express that this experience was out of the ordinary.

My guess is that the car is incomplete. SA's aren't the most knowledgeable sometimes. Could be missing something as simple as a piece of trim and as such they are holding the car there waiting for parts. My guess is that they only ship incomplete cars when they have a lot of them. I know my dealer had something like 50 Macans sitting in their back lot, all missing Bose amplifiers. Probably had thousands of them clogging up the port and eventually just shipped them all. I imagine if it had just been 1-2 they'd have kept it in Emden until parts arrived.

All my speculation of course. But that'd be my bet.

My Cayenne GTS was also built December 8th. Originally my SA thought it was in Emden because it was scheduled to depart before Christmas. Latest update shows it wasn’t actually in Emden until Feb 2nd. But it’s still there as far as we can see. None of the info he has showed anything missing. My build has a lot of options (PDDC, RAS, PCCB, etc) ~150k so I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a hold up but from the sounds of it Porsche just has a massive delivery mess on their hands.

Very nice! My BGTS is being built now. Expected complete by the end of the week. Also ATL PEC delivery in early May.

Great to see everyone getting the factory production photos, its getting me excited!

Received email on 2/12/2023 "Congratulations! Your Cayman is confirmed"

Currently in phase 2/4

Delivery estimated 5/5/2023.

Am I correct in deducing some received production line photos of car 9 days after entering phase 2?
