Official Waiting Room for 718 Spyder / GT4 / GTS Delivery...
#6242
My timeline just shifted by a month as well, original delivery date set for August 26th and now Sept 23rd. The status also went backwards to order created (#1)instead of freeze date milestone met (#2.) Wonder if it is a glitch or an actual delay? Mine is a 2022 C4 GTS.

My CGTS is at Emden waiting to go to Jacksonville. Just looked at the PWL website and saw the schedule has been updated. Looks like the Siem Aristotle is due in on 7/11 which will get to JAX by the end of July. Then the Sunshine Ace is due in at Emden on 7/16 due at JAX on 8/6. Hopefully our cars make it on either of those. There are a few more ships later on stopping at JAX as well.

FWIW my Order Created Date went forward a couple of times, it ended up now at 6/14/22, even though my actual Freeze Date was 4/29 and my actual Scheduled For Production date is 6/24. It seems like TYD is the next best thing to random!

Anyone know what causes our cars to sit at the port and not get shipped out immediately (or on the next boat)? It makes no sense having a car ready at the port but then ship another car out instead.

"Supply Chain issues" is the answer to any problem or question these days! First we wait for the car to be built, then we wait for it to get on a ship, and then we wait for it to get from the destination port to the dealer. Well, with everything else going on, these are first world problems for sure.

Burning Brakes
Damage and incorrect options are two of the reasons, I’ve unfortunately dealt with both. I’m sure there are a ton more.

Anyone have a TYD update that their car is on the Siem Aristotle? No idea how long it typically takes to load the ships, or if I should only expect TYD to update once the ship is en route. Trying to curb the obsession with checking TYD 20+ times a day 😬

So I made it to "Scheduled on Production" on 6/28 (it was showing as 7/1 earlier). "Start Production" is still showing 7/1 as of today. CP8.0 got bumped to 7/22 (from 7/8), and delivery got bumped to 8/19 (from 8/15 IIRC).
I also got the email on 7/1l that I will get manual steering column adjustment instead of power (to my dismay) and they will knock $500 off for this "inconvenience". Email below.
So it kinda seems as if they are planning to build it as 2022 but who knows. The lack of electric steering adjustment is a bummer, and and this point I wish I took a 2023 allocation I had available if that meant I would not get "downgraded" car.
Dear Unclemat,
Due to the ongoing global semiconductor shortages, Porsche was forced to permanently discontinue offering electrically adjustable steering columns on Model Year 2022 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 vehicles. This means that your new 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 will be equipped with a manually adjustable steering column as opposed to an electrically adjustable steering column.
Rest assured the manual steering column comfort adjustment is easy to use. Likewise, seat memory function remains unaffected. Nevertheless, because the vehicle specification is different from what you ordered, Porsche is compensating you with the enclosed $500 sales voucher. This sales voucher may be applied towards the purchase of your new 718. Please print the attached voucher and present it to your dealer upon delivery.
If you have already completed the purchase of your vehicle, we can substitute the sales voucher for a service voucher. The service voucher may be redeemed for service, parts, Tequipment or Porsche Lifestyle at any authorized Porsche dealership. Please forward this email to customersupport@porsche.com or call 1-800-PORSCHE and ask for the service voucher option.
We thank you for your patience, loyalty, and understanding.
