Sometimes the car wait in Emden to get on a boat forever, sometimes the dates move back and forth for no apparent reason.
My cleaning lady at the mother ship told me it is an inside German joke they did this to mess with us customers to make us think they are organized and is on the ball. German precision and all. The reality is they make up the dates as they go. They did this to make it look like they are controlling everything. The reality is their logistics are in complete chaos.
You actually can track your truck. All US trucks as you know have GPS trackers on them. The system is actually much better in North America. Like Uber tracking. Porsche AG in their wisdom decided not to include real time truck tracking in TYD so as not to make the tracking part in Germany looks like child’s play.
You should sit down for this part. I have to pull a lot of weight to get your truck tracking schedule. Your car will be loaded on the beta test truck that is doing some autonomous testing around the country. Here is the schedule. You should get the car in about 24 days.
My condolences.

People on the Racing/DE forum know I am crazy at times, and this question may begin to create a crazy persona here as well.
So . . .
Has anyone gotten close to delivery and then changed their mind on what they want and then placed a new order?
Recently I learned about the many benefits of having factory Nav as well as decided I'm a fan of more colorful versions of the BGTS especially when one gets the interior trim painted the same color. Obviously the simplest answer is to take possession of my order in June and then place a new order and trade in my 2022 when the 2023 arrives.
Questions:
Has anyone been crazy enough to order a car back to back?
Given recent experience is it reasonable to expect I could even get another allocation before Porsche changes the model design?
Do folks here know whether the market for a new BGTS 4.0 is strong enough that I could sell my car myself without getting killed on taxes?
Personally I really really dislike the way most modern cars have a dash with a giant TV screen and prefer the smaller screens integrated into "old fashioned" dashes so getting a BGTS with the current dash design is critical.
Anyways, just wondering if folks here had any thoughts or advice on the subject.

Thank you to everyone here who make this forum a great resource and especially during building my 1st ever Porsche. Dolomite Silver and Blue Roof/Interior turned out better than I could have ever imagined.
For those on the fence on any of these options:
- painted glossy black front fascia and rear diffuser is worth twice the price. It looks so good in person and I am glad I took a flyer on this one not being able to ever see it in person. So happy to be rid of the ABS plastic.
- platinum wheels work really well with Dolomite (although not that it matters now that Dolomite is no longer available)
- Graphite Blue interior is stunning. So glad I did not go the black route and tried to create a classic looking Boxster with some other combination. Full deviated stitching worth every penny, zero regrets spending the $$ on it. As soon as I saw it I was smiling, it looks great.
- LEDs definitely give it an upscale feel (not that it needs it), also glad I didn't cut corners on this one.
- upgraded aluminum PDK shifter. Nice touch that the leather matches the blue. But I have always loved this shifter for some weird reason, almost spent $1k to get one for my 911. Easy tick of the box and I think it is worth $300 easily, just looks special again.
- brushed aluminum trim. I first saw this on a 991.2 4S I test drove in Toronto, and as soon as sat in that car it was the first thing I noticed. Up to that point I only had seen the regular plastic version or the painted version. It really looks good, and fits right in with the classic vibe I wanted.
- Rear painted model designation. I really wanted a logo back there, but not black. Nor chrome. So I blacked out the Porsche which I love in person now, and painted the designation. The painted designation looks wonderful in person with being paint matched, really happy I went this combo.
- painted black calipers. Glad I also ticked this box as they really allow the platinum wheels to be on their own and also does not add another (red) colour into the overall mix.
- Burmester. Where do I start. One of the more controversial options for a Boxster, but one drive home and already am madly in love with it. Big upgrade over my 911 BOSE.
Until we meet again in this room...

Just when my car finally gets on a boat and headed this way I get offered another Spyder allocation yesterday. I might just take it and configure another one and see what happens. Depends on how much they want for it.

Anyone find a cheap way to track the ships across the ocean? As usual my TYD isn't working the way others have so I can't see where the ship is.
