Official Waiting Room for 718 Spyder / GT4 / GTS Delivery...

Ugh. I'm hoping it's just a glitch in the TYD app, but my GT4 went into production on 3/8/22 (confirmed by my dealer), with a delivery date of 4/29/22. Now it says production won't be completed until 4/8/22, with a delivery date of 5/20/22??? I was hoping that if it entered production they wouldn't stop half way through, unless there was a sudden supply shortage. Otherwise, it appears they may have just shut down the plant regardless of build status. Has anyone received a similar delay?
You may want to do the same at this critical juncture. It's highly likely TYD is out of sync.
For example, when production of my car was completed TYD acknowledged it but indicated that it would take weeks for it to get to Emden. Just not accurate.
Good luck!

I had a similar issue. Car went into production. Then on the day it was scheduled to be completed the Factory Leave date got nudged forward about 6 weeks. Then a week later had left the factory and was waiting at the port.
Not really sure what happened. I was just glad it had left the factory. Might be a glitch or something, hopefully you receive similar news over the next few days.

EDIT: Never mind. I found the chart above. It looks like the Grand Legacy in about a week or so and then it's the Glovis Champion and Antares Leader in early April.
Is it common to have two vessels set to leave the same day?

Luckily, my SA has been very patient with me. So, I stop by every so often for a reality check in the form of a printout from the PVMS system. I try to go during off-peak hours.

These SA’s are hilarious, they make it seem like you’re interrupting a surgeon if you ask them for something during “peak hours”. It is good of you to ask for (a very simple and 10 second) request when the SA is less busy. I just think it is pathetic that they can’t offer an update *without having to ask* every week or two.
No sheet. And let's face it. They're sitting there perusing the internet waiting for their phones to ring anyhow. Talk about a non-intrusion. My guy has been really good this time. Definitely shares the excitement with me.

My car has been sitting at the port in Baltimore for a week......waiting to go to the dealer in Baltimore. The last bit of waiting is the hardest!

Well mine is built and is in Blighty but the 'My Porsche' App still shows it being scheduled for production. We aren't fortunate enough to get TYD in the UK but needless to say, updates are pretty rubbish!

It truly is such basic customer service and knowing your room. They are in sales, this should be pretty obvious one would think. Give prompt service and yes, get excited about your customers car. Of course most times it is faked, but that is what customers want to feel..that you are right there with them and the SA should be fueling that excitement. So, so simple yet it does seem difficult at times to find SAs who are good at it. I will say as well that there would definitely be some amazing SAs here if they ever transitioned into that since many know what the customer wants in the end.

I guess it will be a great commuter to show off at work, however.

I really wonder about 718 EV successor's popularity. Current 718 is such a niche low number vehicle. Will 718 EV sell better? I suppose it may be somewhat of a hit especially in good weather affluent areas as a fancy commuter. Time will tell. But as a canyon carver/fun road trip car/track car? No effing way.

I figure the 718 EV will have record cayman/boxster sales and record depreciation.
Because new sport car sales are often done by people chasing numbers (fastest, most power, latest tech, most tech, etc) as people looking for used cars which care little about numbers and more about feel and enjoyment don't have any interest in it.
You know for a fact the 718 EV is Porsche sticking their toe in the water of EV sports cars before they go full turbo and commit the 911 to it.
