Nice - is the GTS a 4.0? Interested in your thoughts of it V the GT4 (as a daily driver) please?
The GTS is a 4.0L PDK with buckets and ceramic discs, the GT4 is used just for track days; neither are daily cars. I bought the GTS a few weeks ago to run both for a year to decide which best suits my longer term needs. If the rain ever stops this year I’m sure I’ll appreciate the Boxster more.
Power wise there is nothing in it at legal speeds. There does not seem to be much difference in suspension compliance. Iron discs (PFC) in the GT4 are great without ceramic anxiety and although discs are much lighter, the GTS’ steering and turn in at road speeds doesn’t seem to be very different. I am taking the GTS on a Goodwood track day in a few weeks to see how it behaves at higher speeds before having suspension alignment done. It will be slower than the GT4 but won’t rub underbody aero parts on undulations nor require much care on ramps.
I suspect my choice of which one to sell will be pure emotion and one that I will regret because they are both great cars and one is better for one purpose and the other better for another purpose.
Why do I have to decide on one purpose? Remember it is better to apologise than to plead when it comes to boy’s toys!

Very interesting thanks. Have owned and daily driven a couple of different GT4s but never tried the GTS myself yet.
@BabyNSX , how hard was it to get the side pieces of the front splitter off? I think there's some double side tape? Did you have to take off the wheel well? Splitter looks great.

I had Alekshop install the splitter so that I didn't have to know the answer to that question :P
Honestly, I don't think it is all that difficult. I doubt you need to take the wheels off to take the front splitter off, but if you are doing the full SSR splitter install (that includes the side blades and dive planes) then I suspect taking the wheels off would give more room. The side air deflectors on the GT4 have 2way tape holding them in place, with a few snaps and screws, but I don't think the splitter has any tape holding it, just screws and snaps.
Just picked up my 718 Spyder this weekend! The prior owner lives within an hour of the Tail of the Dragon, so how could I resist?! I flew out to drive it on the TN backroads this weekend and having it shipped home. I’m still grining ear to ear!
The shark blue color is incredible! Everyone I met over the weekend commented how great the color was. I previously had a 987.2 Spyder in white, so this is definitely less subtle - but definitely suits the car!
I’m trying to decide if the satin platinum wheels may look better. The black wheels look good, but I feel like the wheel design gets lost a little bit.
That right there is a KEEPER! Lots of luck with it.
How was The Dragon?
Thanks! The Dragon was really fun. Super tight turns. I think I enjoyed the nearby Cherohala Parkway just as much. It was less crowded and had more runway for some speed.
iPhone photo of my blues bros together. The RS is Nitrous Blue, a bit lighter than Shark and with a lot of flake. I've owned it since new (will be 7 years in November!) and it's my daily / road trip / track car. I'll be back another time with proper DSLR photos when both are clean.
