Thanks for this update. Glad to hear the confirmation on the mileage aspect of the warranty, but not sure how I feel about keeping it at port without more details. My SA had mentioned they have an enclosed parking garage they could keep mine in and keep an eye on it, if they can get their hands on it.
The bit about the voucher being contingent is not consistent with what I've seen and heard, so definitely something to be questioned if you're on the fence. I'm sure this will be cleared up by the time you are reevaluating.
Your V200 date is about 3 months earlier than mine, so I guess I should be thinking September until informed otherwise!

Yeah, I doubt it's that direct a correlation, but Porsche is stating a ~4 month window for the repairs and and I know my V200 was pretty late for being in the affected group. I guess we'll see in time once they starting cranking through this mess!

You can always use the calculator I made 3-4 pages back!

I don't like you calculator...it gave me bad news In all seriousness, thanks to your and your wife for putting it together. I'm expecting to be in Sept but fingers cross that I magically make it higher on the list and get some summer driving in.

Let's hope they used the old tried and true "under promise and over deliver" method. I'd sure like to have mine in August, but it is probably a long shot.

Here's what my SA told me yesterday:
- extended engine warranty is 8 yrs, unlimited miles
- car will be held at port until approximately a week before the new engine is expected to arrive at the dealer
- dealers do "engine out" work fairly regularly
- $4000 voucher is contingent upon acceptance of the car I ordered
- estimated timing for delivery of my car is mid-June, per regional service manager (V200 date 11/2/20)
I asked my SA how confident he was in the timing estimate and he said he thought it would be conservative. I'm not sure I believe that mid-June is real, but hoping for the best. On the voucher, I didn't press, but the wording of the email from PCNA doesn't say anything about contingencies.
At this point, my satisfaction will correlate directly with delivery timing. I was starting to shop for other cars until my SA told me mid-June. Now, I guess I'll wait a bit longer to see how things play out. If we hit July and my car is not delivered, I'll probably walk away.

I’m curious (no stake in this particular situation) - has anyone seen the “unlimited miles” in writing?
IIRC, the GT3 engine warranty was 100,000 miles (not positive, but I don’t think it was unlimited).
Wishing everyone the very best and hoping for the “under-promise - over-deliver” situation that gets you behind the wheel of your car as quickly as possible!

Yes - I did read those posts (I have read every post since day one). I tend to agree with you since the conversation in two countries is consistent. I was just wondering if anyone had seen written confirmation. I would bet it will be forthcoming.

Dear Mr. ----,
Thank you for contacting Porsche Cars North America with your AMA4 recall inquiries. Unfortunately, I don’t have any specifics to share at this time with regards to the repair procedure or the location, but rest assured your vehicle will be delivered to you in perfect working condition. Also, it is not possible for the repairs to be done at PECLA.
In addition to the existing new vehicle warranty, Porsche is extending the warranty for the engine of the affected vehicles to a total of 8 years, with no mileage limit.
