I have not participated in this as my car has barely reached 300 miles and has not been rev'ed above 3800 RPM, I. have never heard / felt a grind so my experience so far may be an outlier. However I would be interested in these metrics:
Assuming that the transmission is warmed up properly how are the shifts being performed?
Are the shifts being done in a deliberate easy manner?
Are the shifts being done in a 'speed shift' manner?
Occurrences on up-shifts or down-shifts?
What are the RPM ranges that the shifting is being done at?
if any of these metrics are consistent with the continuance /reduction/ disappearance of the grinding or total lack of it maybe this would help clarify things, if we had all this information in one place?

Currently over 9000 km (5500 miles) and I still occasionally get a grind in the 1-2 shift. I thought it was gone, but I have had it a maybe 2-3 times in the last 1000 km. Much less frequent than it used to be though, so I’m still hopeful the grinds will go away altogether eventually.

I had one the last time out, just a little grind, and the car has almost 3k miles; however, I think the problem was that my seat was too far back. I have the standard seats with manual fore/aft adjustment and I like to sit a bit closer than most I presume but this time it was a couple of clicks aft than normal.

I love my car. The grind bothered me for the first few months. I thought at first I couldn't get a handle on the exact conditions that made the GRIND NOISE, but now I think I have it down. I've not heard the grind in a while and I think it's gone. the Gear Box is rather stiffly articulated, and we are talking about a cockpit like situation where you need to have your seat properly placed so your feet can get the pedal flat to the floor. There's a lot room for movement in the foot well space which is great for tall people but my tendency is push the seat back, and in this case it works best when the seat is pushed up so your feet can properly touch the floor. I don't want to be pollyanna about it but listen, I still love my car and wouldn't trade it for anything... except maybe a SPYDER RS.

I was hoping the grind would go away but now that I am over 3000 miles I still get unpleasantly surprised with an occasional grind. For me it happened a few times in the first 500 miles, and then only a couple of times in the last 2000 miles. Hoping it eventually goes away completely.
Does anyone know if the grind is actually causing damage to the transmission? I still haven't figured out the cause -- I'm confident I have the clutch fully depressed when it happens. So user-error wise, the only thing I can think of is maybe I'm not slotting the shifter into 2nd perfectly straight on, but the shift action feels pretty smooth to me.
