White/Black Spyder Build

It was a good Porsche day even without a lot of driving. My DSC controller arrived and will be waiting for the car. Plus, the 1/43 scale model of the 718 Spyder that I ordered from RS Selection actually showed up. It’s small but a perfect reflection of my build other than caliper color. I wasn’t sure the site was legit but it was a quick order and delivery considering it was international.
I had to have some fun trying my hand at scale photography. First attempt and I did it all wrong but this will have to do until the real thing arrives

Are you going to add the sat nav bump to the model? 😂

Updating my thread with the good news that my Spyder is loaded up on the Goodwood and currently making its way across the Atlantic from Germany to Baltimore and then on to Houston. I hope the time in Houston is short and that it will be at the dealer on or before the estimated date of April 9th. I'm ready to fly down and begin the epic road trip I have already posted about here.
I maintain a car journal / photography blog, mostly as a hobby and for friends and family that don't fully understand my car obsession. Purely a fun hobby...not pretending to be a journalist here! I posted a bit about the racing heritage behind the 718 Spyder. I know its mostly Porsche marketing but I geek out on it anyway. Sharing in case you need to kill some time while you wait for your car to arrive or in between drives if you are lucky enough to have it already - https://911maniac.com/2021/03/08/wha...he-718-spyder/.

Wow...that looks great with the gold wheels. I know it isn't "gold" but it takes me too long to look up how to spell the actual color I sent standard silver but I will likely change that in the future.
PS - There is a photo thread for white GT4/Spyder that you should post that beautiful car if you haven't already - https://rennlist.com/forums/718-gts-...l#post17262555

Cool thread Just placed my order two weeks ago. Gonna be a long wait!
Your pictures of the 1/43.... lol... I forgot about that site (been looking to find a white Spyder model)....
There is a Porsche AR app called "AR Visualizer" available if you use Apple devices. You can pull your Porsche "code" in, and it will draw the car in AR. It doesn't help with the obsession but I'll tell you I already used it to take pictures of my build parked in my driveway....

Like many of you, I'm in a holding pattern waiting for my Spyder to get a new engine. I'm filling the time by spending more money on accessories. My most recent add...my dealer just secured me a 911R shift assembly with matching silver thread. I had planned on waiting a while for this but the delay has me shopping instead of driving! Turn around was quick and the price beat Suncoast by a little, especially when you factor in shipping. My SA doubles as a hand model:
On the much more controversial side, I've always loved white wheels on Porsches and I had an older 911 that was white with white wheels. I had an artist (MF Design) do a render of my Spyder with white wheels and I'm loving the look. I'm also having a few renders done with various Martini inspired designs that I might play with in the future. I'm far from a purist and want to have some fun with this car. Here is an example of the white on white look. Sharing in case anyone else is crazy enough to be considering powder coating their new wheels. Black, silver and shares of gunmetal are not the only options if you are willing to take some **** from others

Not for me but I like the look...and it is nice to see that you realized PCCBs are required with White wheels!

I'm a big fan of PCCBs for many reasons but they certainly make my decision to go with white wheels easier to live with
