GT4 fuel filler cap

GT4 fuel filler cap
My old 997.2's fuel filler cap has a distinct click when I tighten it down. However, my GT4's fuel filler cap does not click. Can someone verify on their GT4 whether this is normal ?

This is like mine, soft detent/click but certainly easy to tell when it is closed... faux aluminum version here.
Still disappointed that it wasn't actually aluminum for the up cost.

So I declined that option thinking, oh its just a gas cap, "normal" is fine. I now see why there is an upgrade. The stock cap feels flimsier/cheaper than the caps on any car I've ever owned. I just ordered the aluminum look from Suncoast. I hope its a little better.

Every time I fill up I smile when I open the filler door, the aluminum-look cap looks right for the car.

I have the default black plastic one instead of the aluminum-look plastic one and it has a distinct feel when it's closed although doesn't really make a sound. Note that there are 3rd party real aluminum gas caps https://www.maxspeed-motorsports.com..._Porsche_.html

I refueled yesterday and after driving for about 5kms the check engine light popped up. Says engine control fault driving permitted.
It leads me to think its related to the gas cap. I can't recall if i shut it firmly but i did tighten it afterwards. The CEL is still there. Code P2626.
I'm hoping a few warm starts will clear the code or else its a trip to the dealership.
Fuel cap dramas... only time will tell ..

Hi Randy, they never worked on 981 or 718, different system. We couldn't reproduce them in CNC , the locking tabs are made of flexible plastic, couldn't reproduce.
Thanks for checking in
