There is an ample supply of Covid Orphaned orders to be found. Go find one, and have a listen. Come back and tell us what you think.

Are you referring to this (Model #: 02-0992-06-v3) or there will be an updated version? The drop-down list has 718 GT4/Spyder listed now, but the description doesn't mention PSE or valve/flap control logic.

I am quite happy with my stock 718 GT4 sound. It’s quiet when needed and has a great sound quality at WOT and high rpm. I don’t really want louder. If I end up modifying the exhaust, the primary factor will likely be boredom and wanting to experience a different awesome.
Reference wise, I’m comparing to cars that sound pretty epic (458, F12, 911 R, 991.2 GT3T).

I wonder if this thread needs to be separated into NA and European owners.
From my understanding, while both sets of cars have the particulate filters, only the European cars have the substrate in the filters, which in turn results in the noise dampening, while the American (and I'm assuming Canadian) cars do not.
If the above is true, and if that means a sound difference, I would be very curious.

Totally fine with it. Sounds fantastic above 4k and nice and quiet below. I'd rather listen to the mechanical noises at low RPM than have drone.

Now have 3000km on the car...I don't notice it sounding particularly better than when new, just that now I am routinely revving over 5krpm. As everyone has said...sound is def muffled below 4krpm. Above it sounds ok. Coming from stg 2 N55 w/MPE so used to a little more pomp and circumstance coming out of the back end. I don't mind a few burbles on downshift...doesn't need to sound like an AK-47...moderation is good in my books.
Ordered the Akra OAPs to replace the stock pipes and get rid of those heavy "squat kegs". Will likely do some sort of flap control mod - just waiting for some more options to come to the market. As for rear box, will keep stock for now...but likely swap it out next year. A guy in the area has a full JRC system incoming so will have a listen to that...and may have to give up a kidney if I like the sound.

I have heard one, for about 30 seconds in the dealership and it was enough to weaken the knees! As noted above in other posts, context matters and the car I drove there in (which is a pretty fine car) sounded like a Corolla in comparison when I got in and started it up.

Yeah, it’s definitely no Corolla when it comes to exhaust sound. Here’s a video of what mine sounds like (fully stock, including stock exhaust flap control):

You need to get it over 3800rpm but then it’s fine.

Sounds great to me! To clarify my comment, I drove to the dealer in my car (Golf R) and though the GT4 sounded wonderful. I can appreciate though, how some might want to control the valves to open when the sports exhaust is pushed. It does seem like they really neutered that button.
Nice car!
