I google translated some of it, but it seemed just like some giggly superlatives. There are other .de reviews out there.

Cheers mate, haha yeah german comes out funny through google translate. But agreed, a lot of superlatives. Can't wait for proper reviews from the usual suspects.

Article cliff notes;

On NBR or some other tracks the PDK isn't any faster than the manny per PAG.

Worked perfectly in Chrome on my iPad. Decent article and finally get to see the shifter and what they call the button, PDK Sport. So there are no changes to the engine map or steering effort. That’s good IMHO.

Just posted; seemed well received. Some good console shots of the GT shifter.

Using the above graphs and other information that I found on the forum I have pulled together a quick comparison of the Manual and PDK for the 718 GT4/Spyder and 991 GT3. All top speeds are theoretical as they do not account for drag etc.

The 718 GT4/Spyder is very similar to the GT3 PDK in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gears, but also has a shorter 1st gear combined with longer 6th and 7th gears.

Predicting that once decent reviews start coming in the 718 GT4/Spyder PDK gearbox will be considered to have addressed the long gearing issues with the manual, but at the loss of some driver involvement.

They should not have used the Sport model but the Cup, which is equivalent to a GT car. Sport doesn’t even have coilovers, just shocks and springs for one.

Also, the chassis is 8 years old, came out in 2012. The 350 Sport version alone had similar times to the 981 GT4 on the same track.

Sorry I don’t buy the lack of driver involvement. Yes it’s different for a bit. But once you’re able to, or the PDK does, shift mid turn on a tight and very challenging course you forget all about it. That along with better gearing that’s a touch away I don’t miss a thing. YMMV

I just sold an M2 Comp after 2 years. The low RPM torque is unreal it that car, and over 400 from barely off idle.

Ahh, the wonders of a boosted car, It has its pros and cons. I do love the thrust power delivery of a turbo, but everything else I like the characteristics better of a NA.

My 16' M3 had too much low down torque, with anything less than brand new fresh extreme performance category tires, you were bouncing off the traction control system at full throttle.

Since you been in both, did you feel the GT4 was about the same for ride quality? I only got a 15 minute test drive in a GT4 this week, but was pretty pleased with ride quality for high performance car. Almost seems more compliant than the M2.

I have a F80 ZCP and sold my 981 GT4 3-4 months ago...I can honestly say that the GT4 has a far better suspension and also compliant....I also did the DCS module on the GT4 and got even better for daily use.

I haven't been in a GT4 yet. I will be placing my order mid next year. My current car is the Camaro SS 1LE
