Also, I assume that's a PASM car, rather than a SPASM car, given that large rear wheel gap. If anyone is on the fence about that, I've gotta say that pic above should seal the deal that SPASM is a must.

 

I was just noticing that myself. Way too large of a gap -- I do hope that that's PASM and not SPASM.

But more importantly he weighed that car (with sofas and irons) at 1280kg which is 2820lb (!) with half a tank of gas -- that is LIGHT! Compared to the 992 that he also had weighed, the Boxster is 180kg (400lb !!) lighter. Wow...

EDIT: Just finished watching it. Excellent review. I like his low key, no nonsense style and I agree with him almost completely even though I have yet to drive a GTS 4.0.

 

Thank You Harry for correctly stating that the long gearing is completely over vectored on. It’s great when a professional reviews a car and not the usual YouTube fan boy influencers who have no idea what they are talking about but simply regurgitate nonsense. I must be showing my age. The car is brilliant (I have the 718 Spyder but the cars are very similar.) When he says “a classic car bang brought up to date for today” - I think that best sums up the car. He nailed it. I have had Ferrari’s Audi’s and other sports cars. The Spyder is simply the best all rounder, I’ve ever owned. ME NASP Manual convertible who else is producing these? And the handling and cornering - simply can’t unglue it. What a machine! Love his reviews and look forward to the next one. Congratulations to those getting a GTS or GT4/Spyder - lucky indeed.

 

About the comment of the car being compact: The dealer had a 1971 911 (ONE owner!) on display on the showroom floor for a little bit a while back and I was amazed at how small it appeared-looked to be no bigger than my wife's Miata. To me the overall look of the Boxster/ Cayman looks to have a bit more of a proportional sports car look. I think Porsche did a good job of packaging the crush zones, all the airbags which need wider doors, two trunks etc. into the platform which has a comfortable cabin.

He shows the window sticker at the 3 minute mark. There is no mention about PASM or SPASM, so that car probably has SPASM. IMO, SPASM might be a must on the smooth roads in Germany, but some of our roads are in such horrible condition, that even the 1 cm difference helps the ride quality. Regardless, Harry's reviews are always great to watch and he is one of my favorite YT car guys. Catchpole is also amazingly entertaining.

 

I think the window sticker showed only the options that added to the price from base, to come to the final price. In other words, it doesn’t list any $0 (free) options to which the PASM belongs. I could be wrong... I’ve never seen that much fender gap in any of the other GTS 4.0 videos so far, so the assumption is that it must be PASM. If that much gap is SPASM, then I can’t imagine how raised PASM would look.

 

If that’s SPASM, that’s ridiculous. I can’t believe it, because all the other GTS’s I’ve seen pictures of have much smaller wheel gap. My SPASM Carerra had no gap.

Hey guys in the UK - why doesn’t someone reach out to “Harry” and ask?

 

Starting around 4:20 in the video... Why does Porsche spec 1400kg weight for this car when Harry weighs it at 1280kg(!?) with sofas, irons, and half a tank of gas -- full 180kg (400lb) less than the 992 he had weighed? I thought Porsche doesn't play games with kg and HP specs.
