Akrapovic Aftermarket Exhaust

I like what I'm seeing , although I would've liked more brackets points, at least this have one, and maybe that is enough.
Probably the US/ROW version will not have the hole for the monitor...
This is the part which makes the most gains so probably an smart idea would be start by just changing this one for only 1.7K compared with 5.7K of the slip on exhaust and can be added later
Suscribed to hear and see the first videos that will come, at least this looks promising. No idea why JCR haven't published pictures of their on OPF delete link pipes

1. Back pressure effect on the cylinder shutdown feature.
2. Adequate heat shielding because of proximity to rear suspension. Akrapovic appears to be the only brand with heat shielding.
Does anyone have insight into the above?

I have two primary questions about changing these pipes.
1. Back pressure effect on the cylinder shutdown feature.
2. Adequate heat shielding because of proximity to rear suspension. Akrapovic appears to be the only brand with heat shielding.

If you take out the big canisters with the GPF element the shielding wont be necessary, it will run much cooler in that area.
I ran my 981 at the street and track with the GT3 muffler conversion...those had bigger pipes and no shielding...no problems in 27K miles with any component back there.

Besides the craftsmanship and quality of the Akra products, which is top notch, you would be surprised what other manufacturers like Cargraphics, Dundon, Soul, can deliver on the performance side at way lower cost.
I really like Cargraphics...their headers have a great design and their power increase numbers are pretty close to what you will get. Their GPF pipe (mid pipe) solution is not the best as they retain that large canister back there (on US version).....more weight and more material to radiate/contain heat.
IMO the Soul Race exhaust has the correct design approach as they got rid of the Y design of the mid pipe and did a hole system with a single large tube connecting it to the rear muffler section.....this is the way to go and wish Cargraphics had a similar system.

This full listing is new. Excited to hear sound clips !!

Although it looks like the GPF delete pipes have the bung for a sensor and is spec'd for European models. We will have to wait to see if they release a version without the bung or whether it can simply be plugged

Back to OP, AK is known for the top quality and high price tag. Sound is subjective though, I love mine.
On the GT3 setup, AK is known to have a more refined and OEM-like tone; and is less aggressive comparing to some others.

call me shallow but I am intrigued by the Akra carbon fibre rear diffuser!

Burning Brakes
I’d be curious to see some temp sensor readings on unshielded vs shielded vs unshielded with some quality exhaust wrap.
I do like the OPF pipes with the bracketry though for sure. You can see from the rear go pro shots that the whole system gets torqued under load (you see the stress and release at the upshift points) and breaking up the stress into smaller stretches can’t be a bad approach.
