however it is at odds with my experience in ordering a 718 Spyder via PCNA Exclusiv dept who are in direct contact with PAG Exclusiv since they have
received feedback regarding availability of some of my other CXX options ... all I am doing here is citing my recent personal experience in this matter in
order to inform the community. YMMV

Default SA answers to some PTS question

Probably been covered elsewhere but here are some SA answers concerning PTSThis is what I was given in reference to your questions, the answers are in red. We are getting a little closer:

Painted Roll Bars does not seem to be compatible with PTS. When selecting this option it requires deselecting the PTS option and one of the “standard colors” Is the configurator correct? Yes, the configurator is correct. The Roll Bars Painted in PTS is currently being tested and not currently available on a regular configuration. This would have to be done via CXX and our team is currently testing it for quality.

· Are PTS painted seat backs available? CXX option? Cost? This would be CXX and we don’t have any pricing on this yet.

· Finally, I assume that if PTS the standard Spyder interior painted bits is painted also PTS. Some discussion on Rennlist that for PTS the interior trim requires CXX and is expensive — this doesn’t make sense. The 718 Spyder comes standard with Interior Trim painted in Exterior Color. This is not the case with ordered with PTS and we are advising dealers to update the vehicle’s trim. If the customer does want it via CXX, it would cost $2,455.

I was explicitly informed by one of the 3 PCNA regional Exclusiv managers that the interior trim was included in PTS orders.

Thanks for the gouge...I’ll have to re-engage as that upcharge pushed it to over $15K which was just too much IMHO.

Wow, too many unknowns this late in the process (some orders locked!). Personally, I think painted roll hoops ruin the flow lines of the rear humps to the top of the windshield in the Spyder, though they are a must for the hump-less Boxster GTS 4.0. For the interior, if it doesn’t come standard, I like evilfij’s idea to order the leather interior trim, keep the door trim leather, and replace/repaint the dash and console trim to PTS after-market (easy, cheap job). Paying $thousands for CXX for such trivial adjustments on top of the already obscene $13k PTS fee would be grotesque.

Ok, so I heard back from Exclusiv again (who queried PAG), sadly its correct, the interior is *not* painted (by default) as part of a PTS order but it is available via CXX options, as follows:

interior pkg painted: $2640
center console painted: $540
door panel cusomized: $8630 (this is apparently the cost to reconstruct the entire door panel and paint it to PTS - seriously)

Getting the inside painted is approaching the cost of getting the outside painted ($11810 vs $12830). Or if you want the whole package, it’s yours for the low low cost of $24640. Quite the deal.

probably cheaper to pull the door trims and get them painted aftermarket!!!

but it was noted that the "door project" might not be required, pending confirmation from PAG

the door "project" and cost is still awaiting confirmation from PAG as of now ... probably cheaper to pull the trim strip and have it painted aftermarket

question is, if you paint the interior but not the door, what do you do with the door - also this is different from previous interior PTS options - e.g on my GT3 they painted the door trim as part of the "interior" PTS line item...
