Nice Andy!!!

Btw, the first day I picked up my car with the headers and race exhaust, auto start stop was working.

For the past month and a half auto start stop doesn't work anymore. ( Not that I use it). Any ideas?

no, mine still functions fine. It will depend on battery level and a bunch of other factors though. When it quit on my Boxster it was a sign I needed a new battery. I daily my gt4 though, so it gets enough miles to keep everything happy

Received an email this morning, my rear section shipped today. FedEx shows an expected delivery date a week from today, I can’t wait.

Have a question for John. How do perform quality control on all those welds to make sure they're as they should be and don't leak?

rookie question here related to OAP's....The Soul OAP's don't appear to need any type of ECU tune and meet emission regulations (I think)...when I go to the Akrapovic site, their 'link pipe set' appears to require an ECU tune and it states clearly they do not meet emission requirements and are not street legal...what am I missing? I think these are both OAP's...no? Appreciate the hand holding on this one...I'm picking up a CGTS on Friday and am just planning ahead....thanks!

Hey Rookie, no location set in your profile so it depends...

In North America the GPF is not monitored in Europe it is hence the different statements.

Akrapovic is an EU based brand where the OAP is an emissions component - so their statements are based around that.
Soul is US based where the OAP is inert and has no effect on emissions - so removing it does not affect them.

At the end of the day, they both delete the GPF

ah that makes sense.....I'm in Seattle/North America.....so likely meets emission standards, but does the Akra option still require an ECU tune?

Thanks for adding your location, helps with answers! I am over on Vancouver Island.

Either pipe will function pretty much the same here in North America, and neither would require an ECU tune for use on your car here, FWIW I am running the Akra link-pipe and no ECU tuning was required.

As for meeting emission standards, as they are not monitored they should pass inspection, but that could vary from location to location, do you have emission inspections in the Seattle area?

Thanks very much for the response! Vancouver Island.....I've heard it's ABSOLUTEY beautiful there,,,,I should get up there on a short trip.....good roads?

Unrelated to this thread....I can't help but notice you are averaging 230+ posts a month.....(WOW)......thank you for contributing! Impressive.... :-)

Back on topic....so how the hell am I going to decide between Soul and Akra? If I go the Soul route I want to coat them just because...(unless they tell me it's 100% not necessary)....
Sorry, have to go.....planning my next trip to Vancouver Island...

Vancouver Island is a Jewel, much like the Olympic Peninsula on the south end and forested much like Oregon the further north you go, lots of roads so even though I took delivery of the Spyder last July I have managed just over 7000km of casual driving, all of it on the island...

Here is a link to a few pics from a recent "lunch run" partway up the island.

Well, we are a US company right here in Willow Grove busting our tails to support the Pcar community, and we are quite active directly with our customers as you can see here. We'd love to have your business : ) When you ditch that giant heat soak of the particulate filters (more like cat cores on the US cars) heat shielding is not a necessary item. That said, adding a heat solution is never a detriment as there is no such thing as too much heat reduction surrounding exhaust. It's more cost involved and we aren't in the business of charging people more money than they have to spend for a product, we aim to keep product price points reasonable with excellent quality. However, we are in the business of catering to individuals and we do offer the Jet Hot Ceramic Coating you mentioned on a case by case basis for those that simply want to go the extra mile, as we find a quality ceramic coating on the entire product superior in most cases to heat shielding. It would be $250 to add their standard 1300 degree coating for your reference

Regards,
John Gaydos

Trip to Columbus for a Fort Wayne Driving Club and Columbus Cars & Coffee meet up. Exhaust is amazing! 7 hours of driving and I'm certain it sounds better than ever! In the parking garage I gave it a quick crack, and I thought WTF was that? Way louder than I imagined it would be with a wonderful high pitch note! Many compliments on the sound this SOUL system makes.

SOUL OAP's with Valved rear section (valves disconnected) FTW!

Glad you like it! Let me confirm. You're running Soul OAPs, and valved exhaust, but not headers?
