Do you know if California "allows" clear side markers even if they light up orange? I know this question is along the lines of running with or without front plates in Cali and tinting or not tinting front side windows but just curious if you know or if someone else knows what is "allowed" in Cali, please chime in.

Great car btw. That's pretty much the car my wife originally wanted me to get. She loves the chalk color with black wheels.

Orange is ok on some colors. But I think they are mandatory on the white and light grey cars. I’ve already bought a set of clears for my Spyder. Now just waiting for CARB clearance. So a long way of saying keep the pictures coming.

The only tough thing is the cost... but considering that it is a Porsche part it wasn't too bad.

So easy that your dealer should do it for free. Yes, really.

Yes I got the side markers and installation for free from the dealer. I argued the US config showed the clear and I ended up with the amber.

Thank you!

They flash orange and really bright too!

I am not sure that you would get pinged by the cops for this.

I would say maximum of 10 seconds each side.

On the other side of the coin..... I did my Taycan and it was a total nightmare. My knuckles are still grazed and scratched from the install 10 days ago!!

On my last 10+ cars, I have never had a front license plate in California and all my cars had 20% tint, so pretty dark, never had issues with either. In California, it comes down to 2 things, the city and the other infractions you committed. For example, i have never heard of anyone getting a ticket for tinted windows, unless you got a ticket for speeding and/or other, but then again, this comes down to the cop, meaning, if your an ***, he will add things like no front plate, tinted windows, etc, but if you are just normal and respectful, they aren't going to get you for it. You really need to try to get a fix it ticket for these 2 items, again, i've been driving in California for 20+ years with no front plate and 20% window tint, only once did i get a ticket and that was in Santa Monica, that city is notorious, they try to make a buck anywhere they can. My car was parked, when i returned to it, ya, ticket on window for no front plate, think i had to pay like $45 online. But then again, Santa Monica is about as screwed up as any city can be.

So, are you going to get a ticket for clear side markers, thats extremely unlikely, you would literally need to find a way of obtaining a ticket, like maybe ask the cop to do it, LOL.
