Well after 9 months of waiting, she is finally home! Put 130 miles on the first day, topless of course!
I am LITERALLY ordering the exact same Spyder right now. Same interior too. But... I am torn between the silver and platinum wheels. I fully understand this is merely a personal preference matter, but any thoughts about your platinum wheels? Also, why did you pick those over silver?

Simple: Platinum hides brake dust much better. If going with PCCB then you can do Silver without worry, if going iron brakes then Platinum might be a better choice for easier maintenance.

I went silver because it's easier to fix if you curb a wheel. Moreover, the badging in mine is silver, not platinum. Anyway, both colours are great!
I just thought the satin platinum was a nice compromise between black and silver, and they don't show dirt/brake dust as easily as the silver IMO. Can't go wrong either way!

agree. Both are nice.
im going with the interior silver stitching and accents, so I’m leaning toward the silver wheels to match.

I was originally going to pick silver because I actually like the design of the wheels for the GT4 and Spyders so I think black hides the wheels too much. My wife didn't want the silver because she didn't think it looked aggressive enough and was too plain since every car basically comes with silver wheels. Never saw the platinum but when we did, we both said it was a good balance between the black and silver and it was unique as we never had a platinum colored wheel before. The nice thing about the platinum wheel is it kind of changes color/shades a little bit depending on light and view angle.
Someone mentioned that silver is easier to repair if you get curb rash. True but I got a nick in the wheel somehow. I have to assume the front tires picked up a rock and shot it towards the rear wheel and it hit it just right to where it nicked it. My ppf guy had it repaired and I can't tell the difference so you just need to make sure you have someone that can repair it correctly so don't let that be a deterrent.

great points. I didn’t realize t they changed color like that. You just might have convinced me. Plus you wife is right.
Gentian Blue is the "gorgeoust" non PTS color in the 718 platform hands down!
I'm going to the 3rd 718 car in a space of 12 months (unfortunately and fortunately!). First my 2020 GT4, delivered in April 2020 in California, one of the first units to arrive in the country. Then traded this year for a 2022 Spyder manual, after 7 months of wait. Then finally, opportunity to grab a GT4 RS allocation someone else dropped... not PTS eligible. I went from Arctic grey to GT silver to shark blue... hours of simulating colors and wheels on the configurator... and finally decided to go GB for the 3rd time, 3rd time with PCCB yellow calipers, satin platinum wheels, buckets with yellow stitching, deviated stitching package etc.
This color is incredibly amazing! And as nice as it is, it looks so bland on the 992 for example... it just marries with the 718 perfectly!

Yes, you are 100% correct. GB is the very best non-PTS color today. Personally, I am just struggling with the silver vs platinum wheels. Both are beautiful! It is a coin toss for me know on which wheel color to pic, but 100% GB for sure on the car color!
