My local dealer has two Spyders in stock, one in Gentian Blue and one in GT Silver. Seeing it in person and to my surprise, I don't actually think Gentian Blue looks that good on the Spyder. The silver Spyder with silver wheels looked very sharp in contrast (I didn't get any pictures of that one). This had made me re-think Gentain Blue on a GTS 4.0.

I also tried to love Gentian on the Spyder but like you it just doesn't do it for me. I think black looks way better.

I had a GB on my Spyder build and although it is a beautiful color, I too agree that it is not the best color for the Spyder. I changed mine to SB.

I think the issue is most people spec black or platinum wheels on GB which really darkens the overall aesthetic of the car - it doesn't catch your eye, it's just sort of... There. However, anytime I've seen GB combined with the bright silver wheels it always seems to pop nicely.

Or GB Spyder with the Satin Aurum wheels...also a VERY pretty car! But Black or Satin Platinum wheels do not make GB pop. Example below of Satin Aurum wheels...not my car but beautiful nonetheless.

Agreed, that does make it pop. However, you need to be ok with gold rims. With the platinum or black wheels, it is is a bit too bland--almost like a Volvo blue.

And to @6IXSPD, my eyes agree 100% in what makes GB pop, and to that point stunning. Yes, it is the wheels and maximum elimination of the 'black bits'...hence I like GB on the Cayman versions over the Boxsters.
In my case, I was never considering GB, until I saw this car in-person at a dealer near my home; it's now in my garage. A big kudos to the Turbo Wheels that were specified along with the Agate Grey interior. Truly, those details sealed it for me.

I'm a big fan of those wheels with GB. Can we see some more pictures of the car?

Porsche won't allow it on a GTS version but there is a G/B 4-cylinder car in the area with chrome surround window trim , looks rather nice, IMO.

For what it's worth, I think the Cayman GTS with black wheels in post #1040 looks terrific...but I now see the contents of that post were deleted.
