Close, this was plain ole Buffalo Trace. I have some Eagle and about 40 other bottles awaiting my attention. Life is too short for dry times.

Hi all,

I have a deposit in for a projected June/July delivery so it's time to get serious about color combos. Curious to hear from Gentian blue owners about their experiences with maintaining the color as it pertains to paint swirls? I know this likely criminal to some, but the reality is my 992 will likely see the inside of an automated carwash tunnel from time to time. I typically buy white or silver cars to minimize the appearance of swirls, but I'm really digging Gentian - just don't want to regret it because of maintenance issues. Thanks in advance for your feedback...

I don't have mine yet BUT I'm doing a full PPF when it comes. The new Suntek film is very hydrophobic so water and debris will bead right off.

Would Spyder photos with the same combo work for you?

They would if I could actually see them,

Needing like side profiles and such. So many steel and pccb photos out there, and I've only seen a few with black and they're never that great.

I think the point of black calipers is that you don't see them.

I personally think the blue and the yellow look great together but that's just me and how I specced mine.

That’s not the point to me.

Does anybody have pictures of Gentian Blue with the Espresso or Espresso/Cognac interiors?

I don't, but when I first started looking at 718s I was also considering a GTS (ended up ordering a GT4) in Gentian. Personally, I think the look of blue and brown together is timeless. I still recall what a salesguy told me when I was buying my first suit: blue and black together looks like a bruise. If I could have spec'd espresso/cognac for my GT4 I definitely would have.

Just as it became a sort of status symbol to have big red brembos, a differentiator from the satin black base calipers, Porsche offer to charge you to paint your red ones black <g> Typical brilliance.

That being said, the shade of yellow on PCCB do sort of clash with Aurum wheels.

Yep, a little jealous when I see some of the fantastic Spyder edition interiors and especially the stylish GTS options. Not much other than coal mine black available on a GT4 without getting into CXX

I agree that the yellow calipers and aurum wheels don't look right to my eye. My build has the CCB, satin platinum wheels, and classic Spyder interior. I know most people say to paint them black with the classic interior. However, I think it works and I like the way the yellow looks with gentian blue. I don't need the whole car to be matchy-matchy, just not clash.

It has been hard to find this exact color combo in the flesh though. If anyone has pictures, I would be much obliged (go ahead and insert Superman comments here if you must). I am seeing if I can get a CXX to change the interior panels to leather, brushed black aluminum, or CF but if not, I can always wrap or just live with it.
