More than likely just the Miami Blue replacement and availability of PDK. 981 didn’t change much... If anything got more limited... example: silver wing supports were dropped... no color changes for the entire run.

I had a freeze date of Feb 22. Apparently my car was in production when the factory shut down. Was just told my car will be finished on May 29. Originally had a June 5 delivery date. Now is July 17, but am being told it is likely to be earlier given Porsche likes to under promise and over deliver . Also hearing that Porsche is planning to shut down production for 7 weeks instead of the usual 4 weeks. And, right now they are only building cars that are “sold”.

Is this something new, where did you read this, do you have a link to the source? Is this for the annual August vacation shutdown?

Thanks!

Was told by my SA. Have not read it anywhere. Yes, for the annual August shutdown, supposedly shutting down earlier. Was told this on Thursday.

Thanks for the details, wow 7 week shutdown, that is going to keep a lot of people waiting for their cars, no wonder they closed out a number of 2020 allocations and pushed them out to 2021 models.

With the success of the manual transmission and manual Spyder top, Porsche has decided For the 2021MY to go the opposite direction of keyless entry and enlarge the key to provide more effort starting the car... in addition this new design, it limits owner key loss due to better visibility and not fitting in pockets and bags.

My dealer said my Sept allocation/build month would be MY2020 delivery in Dec 2020. Guessing will relate but will still be 2020 MY Not great, but frankly happy to just get one.

Still a bit of a wait and then taking delivery right at the end of the year... I don't think I could accept a 2020 model at the end of 2020, we have heard that a month or so later and you could be ordering a 2021.

Is you build really special or would one of the dozen or so on Auto Trader make the grade?

Also getting a September allocation. But for MY2021. Doesn’t that seem very late to be 2020???

I strongly doubt that's going to be a 2020 model year. I had a September allocation, early December delivery Spyder allocation and it was going to be a MY2021 car. I posted up the deadlines for model year 2020 718's that I found for Porsche somewhere (possibly earlier in this thread) and IIRC early July was the latest for a 2020 MY car.

I got a September allocation for a GT4, confirmed a MY2021 but PDK isn’t an option for my build according to my dealers Porsche Rep.

How would the dealer rep know one way or the other if PDK will be available if Porsche has not released the 2021 option list?
