Humps/lines just don't show up well in GR-- IMO. I think the GT4, however, would look pretty sweet in GR

Has there been a single customer delivered GT4 as of yet? All I seem to be seeing are Spyders.

Sharing some pics of my 718 Spyder that I picked up today. Wow wow wow! What a car! I hope these help for anyone tweaking their specs.

I did a drive for about an hour after picking her up. Also taking it easy and was mostly through the city rather than any interesting roads. Breaking in so did not venture past 4000 rpm.

Steering is wonderful. A huge improvement. Feels like my GT3 RS Gen 2. Wonderful weight and surprising amount of feel and directness.

Gearbox is a delight, super short in throw and riffle bolt in action. Very similar in feeling to My GT3 Touring which is a huge compliment!

Can’t comment on the gearing as I was short shifting the whole time. But I’m super impressed with the engine and how much more torque it has. It revs more freely for sure and I’m imagining that it will make the long gearing less of an issue for some people as it spins up more quickly to the red line. Time will tell as I get through that break in period.

Engine and exhaust sound is very different. I’m not saying I prefer the 981 to this or that I prefer this to the 981 but it is deeper in tone with more of a rumble. Reminds me of the boom like deep throated rumble that happens in my GT3 Touring when the valves open. Again can’t really comment until I can fully open her up but I would say it’s really does sound fantastic at idle and at lower RPMs especially with the sports exhaust on. No overrun backfiring or artificial burbles and I’m personally very happy about that as its more in line with the GT3 and RS and for me less tiring and more about the sound of the engine and exhaust under load rather than when changing gear or lifting off the gas.

Suspension is very compliant and not at all harsh in the softest setting. Did not try the stiffer option yet. Too early to comment more as did not push through any more challenging corners.

I’m looking forward to having the roof down for the first time for a more intense and aural experience and experiencing more over the coming kms.

Love it! GT silver + satin platinum look great, though I was hoping to go with the stock silver wheels so your pics are going to cost me!

Any comments on braking with the big gt3 brakes? Happy you passed on pccb?

Also Would you please post your build sheet?
Thank you

Your pics helped a TON, so thank you. Specifically, I wanted to see how the platinum wheels look on silver, and this confirms what I imagined: namely, that they would look fantastic!

I may opt for the black calipers with the platinum wheels if I choose silver or chalk, but not sure.

What interior did you opt for? Black stitching or a deviated color scheme?

Also, if you can take a side profile pic of the car that would be awesome : )

Inside it’s extended leather with silver stitching and silver belts. LWBs and Anthracite aluminum trim because I love that in my GT3 Touring.

The brakes feel great but did not stress them out at all yet to comment further. They do not squeal like the PCCBs on my GT3. No noise at all.

Saw this in the Piston Heads forum. Then saw it in the Dealer Allocation thread in RL. But given the beautiful pictures I thought it deserved to be here. https://finder.porsche.com/de/de_DE/...SeriesKeys=718

Congrats on on your beautiful new Spyder, that with the GT3 makes for an amazing Porsche garage...

Thanks! Both amazing cars. Open top motoring is another level of involvement to these incredible drivers cars. IMHO the Spyder is the pick of the Porsche open top range across many generations. I was 3rd in line for Speedster at a dealer who received just 2 cars. I’m happy I got the 718 Spyder. For me the Spyder is a much better looking car. It’s far exceeded my expectations in all other aspects. That new engine is absolutely brilliant.

Will be difficult to choose between the cars in the garage. As they keys are near identical I’ll just grab the first that comes to hand and see what opens.

I can only imagine

If you can, please post a couple of interior pictures with that anthracite aluminum trim.
