982 GT4 Spyder?

I love my Spyder but agree with hf1. I have two other converts, a 991.2 GTS and a Miata PRHT. When I'm in those cars the tops go down more often and for even short trips. Not so with the Spyder. Sometimes I don't feel like dealing with the top more than pushing a button, though love the car.

The latest mule is sounding good. We might just get a 4.0 NA motor on a Boxster with adequate ground clearance and a regular top for those who prefer its practicality.

Vive la différence!
For all you finding the current Porsche lineup lacking in some way or not to your liking (and who among us wouldn't like to see a change here or there, right?), I hope Santa brings good news to you shortly that checks off all the items on your want list. Me, one of my dreams would be RS-style front fenders on the 982 Spyder. Think they would look absolutely killer. Will it happen? No chance in hell! Does that stop me from salivating at the thought? Hell no! LOL
Whether you prefer your Spyders hump-less with auto tops, or with RS fenders, or with anything in between, keep the faith, keep holding out hope, because you never know what Porsche has up its sleeve, the 935 being but one recent and prime example. Ho, ho, ho!!

RS style fender shouldn't be too much of a problem, I remembered have seen it in some threads for sure.

I almost bought a 981 Spyder in 2017. Was headed to pick it up when I decided to change my mind.
I was buying it without much experience with rag stops. I rented a regular 718 Boxster since then and seeing my usage patterns I sure would hate the manual top (it would be a different story if it was Miata easy, alas it is not). Eventually when I buy one, it will be one with a motorized top.
YMMV.

I think the problem with 981GTS is that after trying the more powerful ones like 991s / 718gts/ spyder etc. you just wish it could pull harder with that glorious sound. The sound out-matches the acceleration a little bit. Just my 2cents. But I do dig the convenience of a GTS's elec roof. Tunnel ahead and your boxster is roof up, slow down& a pull of a switch, voila! How does this scenario sound for all the 'not much hassle with a manual roof' folks?
