I've gotta say, Mamba Green looks great. I wish it was being offered on the 718 Spyder.

The inspiration for the suitcase is 1950's Fender "Tweed" guitar amplifiers. But I couldn't deny my Porsche background.
The luggage was designed with to be as light as possible. We manufacture our own hardware and use ultralight 3mm
aircraft plywood. The Tweed is 6 lbs with the removable retaining belts removed. In addition, when I was having trouble
with the 100 year + old Puritan "chain stitch" sewing machines, as used in original 1930's luggage, the upholstery shop
in Zuffenhausen helped me and recommended I abandon the old machines and methods in favor of a good German
Adler machine similar to what they use for leather dashboards. I took the advice and the Porsche method is far superior
than luggage made in the 1930's. The luggage is carry on size and 2 pieces fit perfectly in the front compartment of a
997 or 991. The leather luggage is a bit heavier. Everything is made in the US and are durable and beautiful.

I had not idea you were in the business! What an unusual venture! It's interesting the saddlery department at
Porsche Zuffenhausen was able to give you some good advice on heavy-duty German sewing equipment. As
someone that admires the quality of the leather work & stitching at Porsche and often posts about it here on
Rennlist, I am a fan of that particular department at Zuffenhausen. Below is a Porsche press release about

In some pics I like it and in some pics it's not even a close second to Mexico Blue. But in this pic it looks fantastic. Miami Blue vs. Safe no brainer GT Silver w/ Classic Interior.

Cameras tend to auto correct the color balance of Miami Blue... in real life it’s more turquoise/green.





These are all the same color.... GT3 and the lower Macan are the closest to the real deal.

Agree. My GT3 is MB and I’ve never really seen it look like that Spyder pic in any light.

Proof that women young and old dig this car and would rather be in it. The two in the middle are scowling, and I’m pretty sure they think only Subaru’s and Prius should be on the roads.

Nice videos, Mash. Thanks for posting. Miami suits the Spyder well and looks killer IMO. I’m betting it will be quite a popular choice.

It’s exciting that these cars are just starting to hit the streets abroad. The number of modern Spyders on the road is about to expand significantly and Spyder Nation will have many new members. The 982 will increase people’s familiarity and awareness of the modern Spyder family and perhaps give these cars the recognition they have been lacking.

Given the 3 year run of these 982 Spyders (and probably close to 3,000 US cars), what is the collective wisdom on their projected value retention compared to the one year run of the 981?

I am debating whether to sell my 981 and order a 982 or not. But I'm not one of those "unlimited resources" guys, so having my $120K Spyder be worth $80K in three years won't work for me.

Wait regardless. We really don't know yet if the driving experience is as good. New motor, weight, sound all questionable at this point.
