Default JCR // 718 GT4 / Spyder / GTS 4.0 - TITANIUM VALVED RACE PIPES

Hey all,

Very pleased to officially launch our new exhaust product suitable for the 718 GT4 / Spyder / GTS 4.0

ORDER NOW - JCR 718 GT4/SPYDER TITANIUM VALVED RACE PIPES

Introduction

The new 718 GT4 and Spyder has been receiving excellent reviews from magazines and customers alike, however there is one stand out point which is mentioned over and over. The sound! Gone is the soulful scream of the 981 GT4 & Spyder instead replaced with a flat and uninteresting exhaust note, drastically reducing the all-important fun factory of this otherwise fantastic car.

The introduction of WLTP regulations have seen the introduction of OPF (exhaust particulate filters) and very restrictive rear silencer assemblies into the latest generation of models. The OPF serves as an emissions device but has a secondary impact which is very obvious to anyone who's heard just how muted all of the latest generation cars sound.

We are releasing exhaust solutions for these OPF equipped cars, releasing performance and unlocking the glorious sound.

We have two versions of our Valved Race Pipe available..

JCR 718 GT4 / SPYDER / GTS 4.0 - TITANIUM NON SILENCED VALVED RACE PIPE

JCR 718 GT4 / SPYDER / GTS 4.0 - TITANIUM SILENCED VALVED RACE PIPE

In the early design phase we removed the restrictive factory tips in favour of a 63mm Vband to allow fitment of our two tip options

Factory tip mount

JCR 718 Valved Race Pipe Tip Mount

JCR Titanium Megaphone Tips

JCR Inconel Rolled Tips

We also offer Titanium Silenced Tips for those customers who might plan to run on tight noise restricted days with OPF deletes and/or Race Manifolds which delete cats. These tips reduce dB levels by 5/6dB and quickly fix using the band clamps

Direct Replacement / Modular Fitment

The JCR Titanium Valved Race Pipe is a full direct replacement product for the OEM 718 GT4 and Spyder rear silencer assembly. No fabrication required, simply remove the factory rear silencer and replace with the JCR Valved Race Pipe.

Light Weight

Due to the construction and material choice we were able to achieve all of our performance goals plus reduce the weight of the OEM system by over 60% - This truly is a win-win modification saving over 10kg (22.04lbs) of mass from the rear of the car.

Performance Increase

Every component of the JCR Titanium Exhaust line is guaranteed to improve HP & TQ with to a varying degree dependant on the specific combination of parts.

GT3 Style Sound

The sound signature of the JCR Titanium Valved Race Pipe has been engineered to match as closely as possible to our existing, very popular GT3 product line. Gone is the flat and dull exhaust note, replaced with a beautiful flat 6 tone accompanied by a more substantial volume upon request. Utilising the exact same merge design as per our existing Race Pipe products we have brought the 4.0L flat 6 installed into the 718 GT4 & Spyder into life with an exotic high quality tone, something that owners have been craving since the release of these models.

This system retains factory valve control and features tuned Helmholtz resonators ensuring zero drone cruising even without OPF and cats in place with the ability to increase volume with valves open.

Default HP & TQ

On an otherwise stock 718 GT4 what changes should I expect with your exhaust system in both horsepower and torque? At what R.P.M. ranges?

So from the looks of it the Sport Exhaust button will not do anything as I see both tubes merging without any kind or resonator/muffler in one of the exhaust paths.....or does the sound changes?
If it doesn't change I would have taken out those two valves, save more weight and lower the cost.

Sounds nice! Would be good to have a comparo with a stock car side by side in the same video with same camera/microphone/setup as it is difficult to capture the sound in a reproducible way to compare stock vs « tuned » on different videos.

something similar to this but with better mike! A friend and I did this video after I installed the Renntech mufflers but the camera mike was overwelmed with the bas sound from the exhaust!

Dyno figures release coming soon. 100-200kph acceleration times show a marked improvement. Based on calculations we’re confident that we’ll see 15/20hp gain over stock. The stock rear silencer is extremely restrictive!

The valves of course serve a purpose, they reduce the sound level when closed and allow full undisturbed flow with valves open.

Although the small diameter upper section has no silencers they’re very effective at reducing and deleting any unwanted drone / volume when in those zones. This also allows there to be a very smooth transition when valves open / close.

The design of the OPF housing / flange allows us to create a main flow on the lower and when the valves are open the upper pipe act close to that of a Helmoltz (not quite) but we can control and influence the resonance of the system tuning the upper diameter / volume to target specific frequencies and deliver a great tone whilst optimising flow

We’re working on this, we will be releasing a much more comprehensive video early next week, more drive by, onboard, tailpipe cam etc etc etc

Build quality looks great!
Would like to see the OEM and this hardware side by side for comparison.

OEM system is really very much compromised. We ditched the OEM tips due to the tiny and highly restrictive inside diameter.

Awesome. Could you also use a db meter with stock compared to yours along with the quieter silenced tips you’re going to sell? Cheers.

Very interesting product. I’m still breaking in my Spyder but am sure an exhaust upgrade will follow soon as the stock system smothers the beautiful 4.0 sound.

will you also provide a solution for the 2-4k rpm valve opening issue? I’d like to have the valves controlled by the standard button, but allow them to open much earlier than 4k - when needed... but not all the time.

do you need to make any electronic changes when you delete OPF? I dont see any sensors around them in the scarce pics?

thanks

Also would the exhaust tips look like bare metal? I understand the stock comes with black tips which you say will be ditched because they are too narrow?
What if I want to maintain the black finish look?

JCR, do they turn a muted powder blue after use like titanium motorbike exhausts typically do? If so, that'd be cool...

Do you make titanium exhausts for the 981 GT4?

The OEM system is part of the airflow underneath the car.... Will you offer something to regain that with your nice exhaust bit?
