They did a very nice job on my Cayenne with that so I agreed.

That's a nice build and color. But I need PDK on this one. I don't mind them requiring a few dealer add-ons. It's just the ADM that is getting to me, especially on a T. It's a great car but has limited appeal.

^ Nope, not a good deal. You can get base/S/T for MSRP without much effort.

Damn fortunate to be sorting through these extreme First World issues.
Can't PTS the T so S is your ticket for a custom color

Can confirm with T order at msrp. Didn’t think the demand for 4 cylinder would be much at all

Just joined the T club. Long story...I have loved the idea of the T and the packaging since it was first announced. I test drove a T here in Austin and was underwhelmed by it. Suspension, steering etc. was great, but the car had only a few hundred miles and I didn't feel comfortable running it up to high rpm. That limitation, plus the tightness of a new motor, meant that it didn't really feel notably faster than my 2015 981 Base Cayman (with Softronic tune - which helps the midrange enormously).

Fast forward to now - my 2015 (October 2014 build) is starting to look and feel a little "old" and I'm keen to upgrade. It also needed some stuff - probably about $3k of stuff). I have spousal approval for a GTS 4.0 at 120k or a 981 GT4 but that's too rich for my blood, so I'm looking at 2016 981 GTS and 2020-2 718T. Loved the white one posted above, but it wasn't convenient to go to NJ, plus I'm lazy and I wanted to trade my car. This one popped up locally at a dealer I've bought from before (Subaru). Sound apart, I frickin' love the T and it runs rings around the 981. I'm getting used to the sound...driving it in the morning with a/c off and windows down is helping me understand the different components that make up the overall noise. I pulled the soundaktor fuse the day I bought the car.

Clear side markers are on the way, otherwise the car is close to perfect, other than needing tint. Further into the future, Softronic tune and maybe Soul downpipe are on the cards. Pictures - old Agate Grey 2015 981 Cayman base, and new 2021 Racing Yellow 718 Cayman T.

Yellow is a pretty common color for the T but it looks different in every photo so I really wanted to see it in person. Probably my top color choice would have been white or black, but yellow was #2 and it's certainly hi-viz.

Also, I was considering trying to get an allocation and ordering a T, but the loss of LED lights and Bose was a concern. This car has T interior package (yellow), premium package w. LEDs/PDLS+ and Bose, yellow sport chrono clock, 16.9 gallon gas tank and navigation.

That’s all the must-haves.

Nice score.

Congrats on the pickup, and we'd love to help you address those sound concerns

Awesome, @Chrismalberts . That is an awesome spec--and the Yellow T-interior package takes it an extra-level. On the exterior, the grey mirrors, wheels and badges are perfect blend with RY paint.

Enjoy it!

Great looking T! Did you get it new, and did you have to pay ADM?

It's a used 2021 with around 7k miles and about 35 months of bumper to bumper warranty left. So no ADM. I basically paid the original MSRP for it.

I actually have a 2018 718 Base that is spec'd out like the T and I really enjoy the car. I added a softronic flash and it took the car to the next level. If something were to happen to it, I would certainly look into the T.

Can you let us know a bit more detail of the Softronic on your 718 2.0T? I had the Softronic tune on my 2015 Cayman Base and loved it - it fixed a "flat spot" in the midrange and improved general driveability. I do plan to get the Softronic tune for my Cayman T, but I am curious as to how the tune will impact Normal, Sport and Sport + modes, as there seems to be a lot more complexity in the modes than in the 981. If you could shed any light on this, it would be awesome. Thanks.

I also added a Softronic tune on my 2018 base Cayman and love it. Unfortunately, the car does not have sport chrono so I can't comment on that. However, in normal mode, the car is a little more lively and in sport mode, the power above 3-4K rpm is a huge improvement. It is by far, the best mode for the 4 cylinder turbo cars. Zero regrets.

The tune will change a wide range of parameters from boost to fuelling to timing, adaptations, etc. It's a very comprehensive file. Unfortunately, Softronic does not publish boost targets but of the dozens I have sold I would say 100% customer satisfaction. Bang for the buck it's hard to beat. For those 718 owners looking for a DIY friendly installation, and the ability to flash back to stock, it's a top option for sure. I feel like it sits between your typical off the shelf tune and a pro tune as far as performance and most importantly drivability.

I'm more interested in the "feel" of the tune between the different modes...I don't really want all the modes to feel the same.
