Cheap ODB will read emissions/engine codes and that's about it. You need a Porsche specific product to read extended information like rev ranges. Durameteric works for older cars but not the 718. iCarsoft POR V2.0 can reset the service reminders, and read codes. But does not report rev ranges.

Just bought a iCarsoft POR v2.0, and I could not find an option for 982 in the "Service" option. I could find "boxter 982" in the "Diagnostics" menu however. I.e., I have not figured out a way to "reset the service reminders" yet. Please help.

You just use the 981 option in the service menu.. The 982 is really just the 981.2 so to speak. Goto the menu tree service->oil reset->Porsche, then I have v11.45, v11.30, v11.20, v11.10 as options. I've been selecting v11.45
If you don't see those versions, then download the updating from the icarsoft website and update your units firmware.
Thanks, Todd. Quick and informative response, indeed. Yes I have upgraded it to v11.45, and could see the options after selecting boxster 981 as you'd mentioned. Just no service notification yet to reset as my spyder has just ~150 miles on the roads
Figured I'd update. I bought the OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner for iPhone, Android, and Windows earlier this year. Use it for track days to record engine / other sensor data in Lap Timer app. Works great so far. Was $99 on Amazon and uses the fast Bluetooth.
