Default new to me '18 718CS

Finally snapped some pix of my 718S. Picked it up a month ago on trade for my F80 - had ~10kmi, nice build sheet and I snagged it for $64k. I absolutely love how this thing drives - such a blast! Probably the only car I can remember buying that doesn't really need anything else done to it (well, expect for some race pads for track time of course

So cool. Almost exactly the build I would get except for PASM and 20" wheels since I live in the oil patch.

Surprisingly this is one of the better riding cars I've had (in terms of versatility). The roads around PGH are notoriously crappy and hilly, and with the suspension on soft it's actually pretty comfortable and I somehow haven't run into any clearance issues.

How does it compare to your F80? I have an F80 too and have been a long time M car owner.

So from a comfort level I'd say it's pretty much the same. I think the valving in the Porsche struts is better and the ride can be less jarring at times. Performance wise it's faster than the F80 but you don't notice it since it's way down on torque (in my case even more noticeable since I was running the Dinan tune). As far far as how it sounds, I actually like it better than the bimmer (the noise from which I never loved) although perhaps that might be different if I had the Comp or MPE. Handling wise it makes the F80 feel like a minivan - it's the modern first car I've driven where I can actually understand what go-kart handling means in a car. On the transmission, the PDK is an improvement on the DCT - seems to be faster and smoother. I do miss the multiple downshift when you floor it in the F80, but that's about it. I drove the sticks in both (the F80 was my first 2 pedal car) and I think the p-car has the edge in that as well. The cabin has tons of space (provided you don't try to reach around the seats hah) and in general it has a much sportier feel to it. Don't get me wrong - the F80 is a great car, but after some time it started to feel big and drove a bit too much like a souped up sedan, which of course is what it is. I've been a long time BMW owner as well (135i, E60 550, E92, F80) and each time I've switched into a Porsche I've had zero regrets.

Very Nice, I like that you have the Sport Seats Plus and ventilation; PASM too. I don't see many cars with those seats, I feel they're a lot more comfortable in the shoulder area. Nice build sheet.

Very nice spec and good to see you have PASM-Sport which tightens things up a little more.

Good comparison with the F80. I agree it is a great car but can't compete with the handling of your Cayman although I'd imagine in the higher speed sweepers the M3 would be just as good, just the more tighter corners you will leave it behind.
