Thumbs up Porsche pertinent: Speedster revival.

I wish Porsche would just crank up the wayback time machine, go back, & produce at least a hundred 993 widebody Speedsters.

The following doesn't appeal to my eye nearly as much, but it's possibly a move in the right direction. I wanna see it top-down, preferably in white with Cactus-can, I mean can-can red.
It's only a prototype; I'm thinking positively toward future improvement.

I'm just thrilled the concept's being acknowledged. Simply stumbling upon this was an early Christmas present for me:

Some good points: Bandit993tt's comments @ Autoweek.com, "the last speedster, 964, wasn't that special, didn't have any real performance benefit over the regular models and didn't sell very well 'cause it was also out in the midst of a bad economic downturn and it could have been one of the last Porsches as well 'cause if the 993 hadn't sold as well as it did Porsche would not be! This time the economy is even worse but Porsche is strong.

Few will be sold and that's okay AND if Porsche is true to it's current form it should be good with less weight and the GT3 driveline...woohoo. It'll be special, rare and worthy of the name Speedster.
Goooooee Pour-Shay! Use this puppy to make up for the Cayenne and Panamerica.

Too bad it's ugly. The proportions of all these next-gen water pumpers are just not uniform. The front is just too wispy, weak and thin compared to the chunky rear; the bottom photo shows this clearly.

yeah unfortunately that second picture seals its fate. Just way out of proportion. On another note I really do like the new 997.5's looks but would not give up the Cactuswagen for it. A Carrera C4 for a daily.......

The second shot from the front looks kinda like a boa's mouth swallowing a frog

Maybe I'm a crackhead but I can almost see BMW X6 (BARF!) in that roofline. BTW Cactus, NEVER even think of selling the Cactuswagen!

Different drafts by an independent designer in '06, but I guess Porsche didn't like 'em without boas. Concept frogs:

+1. It looks hunch backed.

Oh no!! More green. One of my Porsche friends used to call them "Theft Proof Green."
