It just has a crappier looking roof on it, when it is up.

Looks to me like they are following the 1989 US-spec Speedster: Wide body, with a big cover hump eliminating the back seats. Although the windshield in the pics doesn't appear to be shorter to my eye.

I imagine they'll include the GT2 sport buckets (as they did in the 1994 Speedster) for 'simplicity' and to round out the package. Maybe a PCM-less console as well?

Did you notice that they stated the next generation to have a "998" designation? I thought they were going to "991". Makes me wonder if the author actually knows what they're talking about.

That hunchback looks completely out of place without the upright lenses from the old 911.

Could be very cool. Wonder if it gets x-51 or similar bump in hp? Less all the amenities, weight, etc, I would be very interested.

pretty sure 998 has been widley accepted as the next gen internal name. i think only cause of sequence of 996 to 997. heck we could all be wrong and they could go 940-something on us.

Porsche is on record for calling it the 991.

IMO - Speedsters should have 1 long side widow....not two.
