Having driven 2002s while i was working in a sprts car repair shop - in teh early 80s - and now owning a 356, i can tell you that you will not be dissapointed in the least - in fact you will enjoy the feel of 356 more than just about anything you will drive of the same vintage.
a good one is like a grat pair of boots - you know they are worn, rough around teh edges, but heck if you can't resist putting them on every time you go out - even though you've got a newer pair sitting right next to them.
