Worst Car Thief Ever Films Himself Stealing Porsche, Wrecks It, Gets Trapped
Sometimes it’s really hard to be a Rennlist writer, scouring the web for Porsche related news, hoping to find anything that’s even slightly interesting. And then there’s other times where you find a story so good, it basically writes itself. This is one of those times. It’s pretty much gold, right at the AOL headline level: “Thief ends up trapped in crashed Porsche after filming himself stealing it.”
You just can’t make this stuff up.
As you can see in the video footage below, which was released by Gloucester police, 25-year-old Jamie Lee Sharp is an absolute moron, and an a-hole to boot. First he and accomplice James Honeywell got drunk, broke into a house, and stole a TV, a wallet, a bunch of small items, and the keys to a Porsche Boxster. Then Sharp had the nerve to film himself bragging about his new car.
“Hey babe, do you like the Porsche I’m driving right now? Obviously I’m the driver,” Sharp brags in his thick accent, then he goes on to say, “It’s mine babe, obviously, I got links.”
So there’s the confession. Not like officers really needed one, as they caught Sharp red-handed when he drove the Boxster into a wall just a mile away from the scene of the crime. And of course, justice being swift and karma being a bitch, Sharp couldn’t free himself from the Porsche and merely had to wait for authorities to come and arrest him.
Sharp was sentenced yesterday to four years in jail. But I highly doubt that will rehabilitate him. You just can’t fix stupid.
