9:11 Magazine Takes Us On An Epic Journey, in Epic Cars

New video is every Porsche lover’s dream come true.

The latest episode of 9:11 Magazine is dedicated to dreams. With the help of actor and car enthusiast Patrick Dempsey, Porsche’s web-TV format explores this theme in different ways. Of course, this collection of beautiful and powerful Porsches is the stuff that dreams are made of.

In the first episode, Dempsey heads to Sylt, a German island in the North Sea. Timeless elegance is a quality that defines both Porsche and Sylt. This is the perfect place for actor and race car driver Dempsey to escape the commotion of everyday life and drive a 911 Carrera 2.7 RS Touring.

The second episode focuses on the unsurpassed Porsche 956. Aluminum monocoque chassis, ground effects, and an air-cooled 2.6-liter turbo engine made this car extraordinary. In the 1980s, the car claimed one title after another. Even today, it remains the most successful race car of all time.

Episode three celebrates the dreamers. Owning and driving a Porsche? Unthinkable in former East Germany. But for brothers Knut and Falk Reimann, vehicle engineering students, that was the dream. And they knew just what to do: With technical acumen, inventiveness, and some assistance from Ferry Porsche personally, they undertook the “homemade Porsche” project.

The fourth episode tackles the terrain, namely, the snow. The drift is the epitome of cornering perfection: In time with The Blue Danube waltz, the Porsche 911 Carrera S executes exquisite turns in the video. Its dance floor is he snow-covered ice track at Germany’s Saalfelden/Brandlhof driving technique center.

The final episode focuses on car collecting dreams. With his “dream works,” Hans-Peter Porsche has created a place that brings joy to others. Here he shares his decades-in-the-making collection of very special objects with the world. One-of-a-kind historic tin toys and a huge model railway installation awaken delight in the founder and visitors alike.
