Porsche Rolls Out New Rides in Asia (Video)

Showcasing the new Panamera’s perfect blend of performance and luxury, Porsche held its debut Asia Pacific media drive in Taiwan.

You could easily argue that no modern Porsche has added to the appeal of the German nameplate in the U.S. as much as the Panamera.

Why? Well, namely because of the fact that it took the long-standing passion for Porsche performance and made it a lot more practical, with a high-revving four-door take on the sports car. Even better, the Panamera doesn’t require one to sacrifice the thrill that comes with owning a car badged with the legendary crest when opting for the more practical Porsche sports car.

Porsche designer Peter Varga probably sums up the appeal of the Panamera best: “It is a genuine sports car, a genuine Porsche that also bears the brand identity – the light panel we are familiar with from the sedan model.”

Looking to build on the allure of the Panamera, Porsche recently rolled out the second-generation of the Gran Turismo, which has been totally redesigned from the ground up, as showcased in the video above.

Nope, that isn’t one of us here at Rennlist wheeling one of the hot new cars — although, we certainly wish it had been, considering the kind of roads you find in the breathtaking landscape of the Asia Pacific.

Under the hood, the latest model of the all-wheel-drive, four-door coupe features two new twin-turbo engines: a 2.9-liter V6 gasoline engine with 440 horsepower (Panamera 4S) and a 4.0- liter V8 gasoline engine with 550 hp (Panamera Turbo).

Other performance enhancements include a lighter body, a new electromechanical steering system for the front wheels and a new high-tech suspension system.
