‘The Contour’ Limited Edition Porsche Design Sunglasses Are Here in Time for Summer

The house of Porsche Design is at it again. They already have many stylish design offerings in everything from watches to eyewear. However, there is always room for something new. Memorial Day signals the unofficial start of summer, so many folks will be looking for some new accessories to make it the best summer ever. Porsche Design doesn’t make grills or bathing suits. At least not yet. But another summer staple is of course sunglasses. And Porsche Design has plenty of those to offer. In fact, they recently announced a new limited-edition line. Porsche Design P´8924 sunglasses called “The Contour” might be exactly what you are looking for this season.
They are available in two colors – palladium with olive-colored lenses, and black with gold lens edging and blue/black lenses. Both versions are limited to only 911 pairs worldwide. Wonder why they decided on the number 911? Anyway, they will come with a retail price of $1,200 and are available now at Porsche Design stores and porsche-design.com. If you can’t decide if these new sunglasses are right for you, you can try them on virtually right now. You can do this by using the new Porsche Design Instagram Try-On filter via a QR code on the product webpage. Simply scan/photograph the code and it will lead you to the in-app filter. You can then snap a pic and post it up on your IG and make everyone think you just picked up a sweet new pair of shades.
Obviously, that is not the same thing has having a real pair of these beauties. While $1,200 may sound a bit steep for sunglasses, they actual make a good case for themselves. Learning a bit more about them, and their construction you understand the justification on price. They are 100 percent titanium. Lens borders are made from milled solid titanium and are edged with an outline made from titanium wire. While no official weight is listed, we can imagine that with those materials they are quite light. So, they are not just stylish, but also offer all-day comfort.
The Contour glasses also go beyond style and comfort. The lenses offer UV400 protection. They absorb UV rays up to a wavelength of 400 nanometers. They also include anti-glare protection to reduce reflections. They are also tough. High-performance is synonymous with Porsche automobiles and the eyewear lenses are no different. They are polycarbonate for extreme impact resistance combined with a robust dual coating for reliable scratch protection. So, they are stylish, comfortable, safe, strong, and are limited to only 911 copies of each color. Knowing all of that, the price begins to make sense.
Summer is just about here. Due to the events of the past year, many folks didn’t get out much. This summer could be the first opportunity to meet up with old friends or to make new ones.
