Recent claims that top World Endurance Championship teams like Porsche, Audi, and Toyota spend more money than Formula One teams shocked the motorsport community. On the other hand, news like this one helps racing team bosses feel a little less guilty about their massive spending budgets.

Porsche’s line-up of all-star racing drivers like Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley, Stephane Sarrazin, and of course, ex-Formula One driver, Mark Webber, managed to offset their multi-million dollar salaries by placing both Porsche racing machines on the first and second grid markers for Sunday’s famous race.

With an all-Porsche front-row lock-down, the very fast Toyota No. 6 Toyota TS050 Hybrids are relegated to the second row for third and fourth starting positions. And the diesel-powered Audi R18s are starting fifth and sixth from the grid, although they ran into trouble and couldn’t set final qualifying runs.

The Porsche boys may be on high spirits as of now, but if one thing is for sure, the 24 Hours of Le Mans forgives and respects no one.

And so, the countdown begins…
