Default What are the visual differences between Base and S model?

I know this is a unusual question but for somebody like myself that ordered their car without any badges how can I tell my S car from a base visually?

As far as I know, from the outside, just the brakes (both rotors and calipers are larger), since a base can have optional larger wheels, and sport tail pipes. From the inside, just the door sills. Oh, and the ugly gray tacho too. Ha ha, which I don't think is even optional on the instrument color palette. And when you turn the ignition on, the dash animation on the right side displays the model and trim. I like my cars debadged too.

The brakes and exhaust. I forgot about those. I didn't know about the animation. I think my door sills will be plain without wording. My tach will be white. LOL just want to make sure mine is an S when it comes since I won't be able to see the engine. 😊

typically a base will have black calipers and a s will have red calipers. that's how they come from the factory but one can always order them in a different color or have them painted.

You know, forgot the tach always has the model and trim in white (so maybe yours will be black), so no need to look for the animation. I don't think the Style Edition says that (just 'Cayman'), but all others do, including the T. So just look at your tach, right above the middle of it.

Thank you! I learn new stuff every week on this board. I'm now in phase 3 of the Porsche ordering process

Cool. I was just told mine is in production. Was told ETA is late Sep, which sounds like a long time, but I ship to Europe, and it's taking longer now, so might not be too far off. We'll see. Is yours also a '24, or a '25?

Sounds like you are a little ahead of me. Please post your car when it comes. What did you order?

I have heard of the shut down before but don't know why they shut down. Mine says it should start in mid July.

Mine has been sitting in the German port for over a month since production. Hoping it gets going before the summer holiday.

Without taking into consideration of various options, which includes the exhaust tip finisher, the brake calipers will give it away. Base and T always come out of the factory with satin gray-black colored brake calipers.

Glad to hear there are ways to tell. I debadged the car so I was thinking I hope I really end up with an S lol

Well, something weird is going on. My car, as well as a local one, locked on exactly the same day: 6/17. And both were August allocations. So apparently Porsche shouldn't close the entire month, but don't know how that works. Anyway, his PDK car is scheduled to get produced in SEPTEMBER (he just sent me the order page), with ETA of Oct 11. My 6MT started production JULY 01. Salesman is out for the 4th, so will get an ETA next week, but it should be way sooner than my buddy's car, me thinks. Something weird is going on, but I'm not complaining. Ha ha. Will keep you posted. By the way, no Porsche notification yet. Is that normal?
