Despite all the drama with parent company Volkswagen, 2015 was Porsche’s most successful year in its lustrous and long existence.

Porsche managed to sell a record-breaking 225,121 units last year, which was a 19-percent increase from the previous year. Along with great sales figures, revenue rose from under $20 billion in 2014, to $24 billion in 215, which netted the company a nearly $4-billion profit. And, in an awesome act of leadership, Porsche passed some of that windfall on to their employees.

A total of $156 million was paid in bonuses to some 15,600 employees, which roughly equals $10,000 per employee. Technically, the bonus was paid up as a $9,117 payroll bonus, and the remaining $777 as a contribution to the Porsche pension and retirement funds.

Ferrari and other smaller scale, high-end car companies are known to reward their employees handsomely, but this one came as a surprise, given the tough times for Volkswagen. So kudos to Porsche!
