Porsche 997 911 GT3 RS with 650 Miles Is Basically New
Stunning 997 911 GT3 is both rare and barely used. But, good luck in resisting the urge to not drive this highly-capable ride.
We all know that Porsches are built to be driven. This is especially true of track-focused cars like the 997 911 GT3 RS, a car that can still run with the best of them today, years after it was originally conceived. But that won’t stop people from hoarding these iconic cars away with an eye toward making a profit one day. At the end of the day, however, this presents the rest of us with a rather enticing opportunity. After all, how else would you buy a brand-new 997 GT3 RS today, eight years later?
And yet, you can do just that right now. Because there’s an absolutely stunning 2011 example with a mere 650 miles up for grabs at Autosport Designs. But you’ll have a hard time telling it even has that many miles on the clock by looking at it. The iconic grey and red color combo covers flawless flanks, making it quite clear that this track monster has never seen a track. Or probably even a spirited run down a curvy mountain road, for that matter.
Thus, this 997 911 GT3 RS is begging you to do just that. Put your foot down even a little, and you’ll undoubtedly want to explore the noises that 3.8-liter flat-six can make on its way to an 8k+ redline. And the heavy aero body bits are just begging you to put them to use around some proper corners on a nice sunny afternoon.
Or, you could just stow this beauty away as a surefire collectible. After all, Porsche built a mere 451 examples of the 911 GT3 RS in 2011. But if it was us, we’d at least take it out on the off weekend. You know, stretch its legs a little. After all, that’s what it was built to do!
