Manthey Performance Porsche 992 911 GT3 Kit Now Available in U.S.
Available in Europe for around a year, the lap time-shaving Manthey Performance kit for the newest 911 GT3 is available in the U.S.
For nearly a year, European customers have been able to purchase the Manthey Performance kit for their shiny new Porsche 992 911 GT3, an impressive gathering of upgrades that makes the already-fast focused sports car even faster. Much of that magic comes from special aero bits and pieces, all of which adds up to some seriously impressive improvements in lap times – a Manthey-equipped GT3 managed to set a best lap time at the Nurburgring of 6:55.737, which is a cool 4.19 seconds faster than its stock counterpart, in fact.
To shave literal seconds off its lap time, Manthey created a host of unique parts for the GT3, a list that includes a larger spoiler lip and side flaps up front, modified air guide elements on the underbody that increase downforce on the front axle, a wider swan-neck-supported wing with a Gurney flap, larger end plates, a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) rear diffuser that’s larger than stock, and CFRP rear aerodiscs for the wheels.
In addition to those aero parts, the Manthey kit for the GT3 also adds a unique four-way coilover suspension developed in collaboration between Porsche and Manthey that’s four-way adjustable with no tools needed. Striking a balance between both capability and comfort, the springs present on this setup increase rates by 10 percent on the front axle and seven percent at the rear over the stock pieces.
Moving down the list, the Manthey GT3 also comes equipped with braided steel brake lines, and customers can opt to add racing brake pads for even better performance in that regard. Speaking of cost, all of this goodness isn’t exactly cheap – the Manthey Performance kit for the 992 911 GT3 costs a cool $57,300, and that doesn’t even include installation or the optional forged wheels, which remove around 16 pounds of unsprung weight from the car for an extra $15,500.
Regardless, we imagine that some folks will be happy to pony up that kind of money to make their GT3 even faster, and for them, the Manthey Performance kit can be ordered through any Manthey-certified Porsche Center. And, for those that are on the fence, Porsche will also offer customers the chance to compare a regular GT3 against the Manthey-enhanced version at at the Atlanta or Los Angeles Porsche Experience Centers for $1,675.
