Los Angeles Auto Show to Showcase Porsche 992 911 Debut
We finally get to see the next-gen Porsche 911 (and the Panamera GTS) up close and personal starting November 30.Â
By now, we’re intimately familiar with the all-new 992-gen Porsche 911. Heck, we’ve seen it decked out in all sort of camouflage, and even without any at all. We’ve seen Porsche’s iconic next-gen sports car testing on the track and on the street. And now, it looks like we’re finally going to see the 992 911 for the first time, at least officially, when Porsche debuts its prized creation at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, which starts November 30 and runs through December 9.
If you visit the official L.A. Auto Show site, it will only tell you that Porsche is debuting a new model at the show. But numerous reliable sources, beginning with Car & Driver, have since confirmed that this model will in fact be the 992 911. And the timing just makes too much sense for it not to happen at this point.
U.S. sales of the new 911 are slotted for summer of 2019, which is just around the corner. And even though we pretty much know what the car will look like already, this official unveiling should shine some light on the things we don’t know about the 2020 911. Including price and final specs including output for Porsche’s updated flat-six lineup.
Early buyers will be able to choose from the 911 Carrera S and 4S next summer. Cabriolet versions will follow soon after, but it’ll be months before the regular Carrera models hit dealerships. 992 Turbo buyers will likely have to wait until the end of 2019.
The 992 911 isn’t the only Porsche coming to the L.A. Auto Show, however. The U.K.’s Car Magazine also reports that the automaker is bringing along the Panamera GTS, which will make its public show debut. Whether or not we’ll also see the Sport Turismo version is yet to be determined.
Regardless, one thing’s for sure – the 2018 L.A. Auto Show looks like a can’t miss event for Porsche fans!
