About to do my side windows and some have mentioned about doing the front, what have you done for front window tint. Im concerned it will have distortion. Does it really save dash boards

I too am thinking of having my front done as well but the only issue is at night. Here in Texas, it's F'ing hot but even at the 50% tint, it makes it hard to see at night. I could go lighter which I might but not sure yet. Also, it's not cheap down here. I'm looking at $500+ depending on where I go....ALSO, it's illegal as well so not all shops will do it.

"front window" is your driver and passenger door. do you mean the windshield?

I'm a proponent of down to 50% tint on the windshield. I've run it on a couple cars. the important part is that it's ceramic tint or better. light transmission doesn't really matter when it comes to killing the heat.

distortion shouldn't be a problem if it's installed by someone who knows what they're doing. I've had a couple issues where the brand of the film was etched into the film itself and it would catch headlights at night, and it was right in the center of my vision, so it was very annoying. beyond that, no issues, and it was replaced for free since that shouldn't happen.

As mentioned by Asellus … The key is having a ceramic tint that blocks the heat … The film can be pretty much perfectly clear / allow visible light so that you can see at night

Tint the windshield, especially if it’s warm where you live. I’ve been tinting my windshields for 10 years now in Texas.

10 years ago the tints were not as good as they are now. Get the best quality tint you can and you won’t be disappointed. Glare is better, heat is better, and UV protection.

I just tinted my front windshield with 70% Suntex ceramic. $170 There is very little difference in heat reduction between 50 and 70.

I had very light (70 or 80%) Formula One (I think it was) on my Audi A4 and it was spectacular. Major heat reduction and I gotta think it would save the dash, but my car is garage kept so I don't stress too much about that. In terms of distortion, a good installer and high quality tint are going to be pretty close to glass. I you saw them side by side and were picky, yeah you'd see a difference. Once it was applied it did not really appear noticeable to me or anyone else. It just cuts heat majorly. I recommend.

How do you deal with the registration sticker and toll tag? Do you have or how do you remove these stickers?

No reg sticker in FL; not sure about that.

Toll tag is unencumbered with non-metallic tints. That said, I put mine up in the moon roof on some cars so I never have to look at it. Works fine up there and I place it back where it's usually under the pull shade. I did not do this on my 911 since I have one of the suction ones.

Just did 70% Huper Optik i3 ceramic on the front windshield and its amazing. Its not too dark at night and the heat rejection is great. It also helps with glare at night as well.

I have 3M Crystalline 70 on all my car windshields. Totally worth it. The glare reduction at night is a secondary benefit.

I just recently put SunTek Evolve 50 on my windshield because the dude told me it would help with nightime glare which has been bothering me more and more lately. Never had a tinted windshield before but I'm sold was worried it would be too dark at night but hasn't been a problem.

Edit: it may have been 70 thinking about it.
