New Porsche 911 GTS Cabrio for J Lo from A-Rod

Baseball star Alex Rodriguez gifted the 911 to the pop star near the sandy beaches of Miami Beach.

The celebrity life may come with paparazzi around every corner, crazy-ass fans with the potential to do frightening things for (or to) their obsession, and a dark side few could stomach, but it also comes with tons of perks. Money, success, fame, glamor, the American Dream draped in gold and diamonds underneath a blanket of blinding stars. And the opportunity to own the coolest Porsches on the block, too.

One such celeb, Jennifer Lopez, recently rang in her golden anniversary lap around the Sun with a big party neary the sandy beaches of Miami Beach. And what could even be cooler than that? According to TMZ, that would be her future husband and baseball star Alex Rodriguez presenting his ‘Jenny on the Block’ with a special 911 cabriolet.

Her new 911 cabrio is, of course, a 2019 GTS; TMZ believed it to be a GT3, which doesn’t come as a cabrio at all, though the last character in the above photo is a bit hard to read. The Guards Red 911 is definitely the right car for the triple-threat celebrity, and will look good wherever it goes, even in the Bronx.

What can the songstress expect from her new gift? For starters, she’ll feel the power of 450 Teutonic stallions and their combined 405 lb-ft of torque from the 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six exiting through the rear send her to 60 mph in around four seconds (depending on whether A-Rod hooked her up with a stick or the PDK), quick enough to escape the paparazzi stalking her in the bushes. Should they hop on their motorcycles, though, she can push her GTS cabrio up to around 190 mph on the long stretches until the police can chase them off her tail.

Once things have calmed down, J Lo can enjoy the fine black Alcantara and leather interior with tons of sporty accents, the wonderful sound system so she can hear her latest single as a few others will, and link her iPhone up to Porsche’s PCM infotainment system to make use of Apple’s CarPlay app suite. All in all, not a bad gift to kick off the next 50 years.
