Default Steering Wheel Dilemma

So, always wanted a carbon fiber steering wheel and saw one that I liked on ebay for a decent price. I already changed out most of the plastic trim pieces in the center console to CF and thought changing to the CF steering wheel would be the icing on the cake. Have had the steering wheel in the box for months now, as now I am thinking that it would be overkill. Just the other day I was commenting to myself on how I like the feel of my leather steering wheel. Aside from feel, am also worried about the CF wheel getting too hot in summer too cold in winter. Thoughts from those with CF steering wheels and others? Stick with leather or change to CF?

That wheel looks amazing! I had a CF steering wheel in my last 991 and it looked great. It was a heated wheel so even the CF part warmed up when turned on. It did get a little hot in the summer, if I remember correctly.

The main thing I didn’t like was the change in texture compared to leather. I much prefer the feel of leather, and on my current 991.2 I went with full leather MF GT steering wheel.

That being said, your steering wheel looks amazing!

nice & elegant CF trim on the center console.
mind sharing the source / vendor?

I'm more of leather/aluminum fan, any vendor recommendations is appreciated.

I love my CF steering wheel- I think it’s the nicest part of my interior and truly makes it look upscale. I really like the feel of the contrast between the leather on the sides and the smooth CF on top. Too bad it’s no longer an available factory option. When it was, the price was ridiculously low by
Porsche standards, so I snapped it up immediately. ( One of the silly reasons I’m not going for the 992). It does get REALLY hot if the car has been sitting in the sun all day. Hot enough so that I cannot touch it until the AC has cooled it down after a few minutes.

I love the look of that CF wheel. It goes especially well with the rest of your CF interior.
