Stock from the factory or modified by the aftermarket, the 991 produced some beautiful cars. Here are some of our favorites.

Running from model year 2012 through 2019 Porsche produced the 991-generation of the 911. You would need to search far and wide to find much negative press on these sportscars. Nearly 90 percent of all components were new or substantially revised. New light weight materials meant that for the first time the newer generation 911 was lighter than the previous. The 991 brought new technology and with the 991.2 that included bringing turbos to even the base Carrera. During the model run there were some special editions as well as an impressive range of GT cars.

In this article we are not too focused on the performance of the 991 cars but directing our attention primarily on their looks. Sure, maybe it is a bit shallow but looks are important when it comes to sportscars. Even the base 991 Carrera was a good-looking car. You could instantly tell it was a 911 but it was refined for the modern age. For many, the base car is not enough, so there are the special models as well as some aftermarket choices that further enhance the looks of the car. Or detract from the looks of the car based on your opinion. That is the great thing when it comes to discussing looks, there is no wrong answer. In no particular order, these are some of our favorites.

50th Anniversary 911

50 Jarhe 911

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 911 Porsche introduced this limited-edition model. The car pictured here was purchased new by Rennlist member swb3. The 50 Jarhe 911 has the wide body from the Carrera 4S, though it retains rear-wheel drive, and the ride is dropped 10mm. There is a lovely set of 20-inch Fuchs-style wheels at each corner and a few other exterior tweaks. The car was offered in a limited number of colors; however, we feel the most stunning is the Geyser Grey Metallic seen here. The special design continues on the inside. Most notably a set seats that are covered in houndstooth or pepita tartan inserts. The gauges are a throwback to the original 901. They have green lettering, white needles, and silver pointer caps. This is a beautiful 991.

TechArt 991

Tuning company TechArt has been modifying the look of vehicles for many years. Their kits can vary from wild to mild. The car pictured here was modified by owner and Rennlist forum member Gary Tubiolo. The modifications include: TechArt Type II rear spoiler, Type I front spoiler and inserts. There is also the TechArt side skirt kit, rear diffusor, headlight and side mirror trim. The results are subtle but really make this 991 stand out from the crowd.

991 Turbo S Cab

The Turbo S is already a good-looking car but Rennlist member Steven31371 wanted a bit more visual pop for his car. A custom wrap and some aftermarket wheels and other bits certainly make this car stand out from the crowd. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but you can’t deny that the car is an attention grabber.
