Giant Porsche Dealer Sign For Sale: A Brand Lover's Pride

It isn’t every day you see a Porsche dealer sign up for grabs, but this one would look great in somebody’s garage or den.

Oftentimes, we find it difficult to truly express our love for Porsche. Sure, we own and drive the vehicles, wear the branded items like watches, and profess our love to everyone willing to listen. But for those that truly want to take this relationship to the next level, we’ve found the perfect way to do it – with this gigantic 16-foot-long, 15-inch tall, 30-inch wide Porsche dealer sign that’s currently up for sale at Facebook Marketplace.

Imagine, if you will, having this massive sign plastered across your home garage. Announcing to every passer by that you are the ultimate Porsche superfan. Alright, it may not be the best idea if you aren’t wanting to attract the attention of potential car thieves, but it’s cool nonetheless. And perhaps you could even hang it inside your garage, or in the den. With prior spousal permission, of course.

According to the seller, the letters were removed from a California Porsche dealership a couple of years ago after hanging there since the ’90s. And even then, the only reason they were replaced was because of California’s clean energy legislation. To comply, Porsche replaced all of its signs in the state with more eco-friendly, energy efficient pieces.

Despite the fact that there would seemingly be a whole bunch of these signs up for grabs after the changeover, apparently that isn’t the case at all. “All the dealerships were instructed by Porsche to dismantle, destroy, and dispose of them,” the seller states in the listing.

This particular sign made it into private hands thanks to the efforts of a couple of parties. The contractor tasked with removing it is a sign collector himself, and he’s also friends with the seller. “Through my longtime personal relationship with the sign collector, I was able, and very fortunately given a chance to acquire a few sets of these stunning letters,” the seller said.

For those interesting in such a sign, it would appear that this is quite a rare opportunity to acquire one. The seller is asking $12,300 for his rare piece. Which we’re betting is less than what it cost to produce new. And personally, we imagine that it would look pretty awesome sitting high above someone’s Porsche collection, or perhaps illuminating their den.
